2005 TL Quality

I'm seriously considering purchasing a 6 speed - 2005 TL soon (Dec.-Jan.).

I'm curious with the 2005 owners (auto and manual) out there how the build quality has been. Specifically rattles, creaks, and noises from the interior and exterior. Any initial problems come up.

Also curious if your TL came with Michellin or Bridgestone tires?

I realize it's too early for the rear tire wear issue that seems prevalent with the 2004's but do any of you have the driveline vibration while driving?

Thanks

250 Miles, picked-up 11/23/5, 05/ABP/Quartz/5AT/Navi. How about 0 Defects or issues so far. I'll probably put 4-500 miles on tomorrow and will post if anything comes up. For '05 I think Navi's come with Michelins and non-Navi come with Bridgestones. A test drive of your intended car before finalizing the deal is highly recommended. See the garage section of the forum.

I have a late build '04 (September) and have no squeeks rattles or anything else. I also have the BS tires and don't have a problem with them either.

I, too, have a late (Sept 04) build 04 TL w/navi & 5AT. 2600 miles and still quiet as a tomb inside. My only complaint is the flatspotting, hydroplaning BS tires.

11,000+ miles and no major problems - one little rattle I fixed myself. Great overall mileage (27 mpg), awesome performance (auto), I also have a wonderful dealer near Harrisburg PA (Bobby Rahal). You'll love the car.

My sig spells out the car particulars. Purchased 9/30/04, currently has 2250 miles on the odo, and so far I have a rattle which seems like it is coming from the rear package shelf which seems related to the subwoofer when the radio is on at a moderate listening level. I will have it addressed at my first scheduled service. Besides that, no other problems (knock on wood!). The car came with Michelin tires.

1 month old. 2300 miles. Fit and finish are excellent. No rattles, squeaks. Seats are holding up well with the new design.

'05 Auto 1.5 months old, 1600 miles. A very faint creak in the headliner in front of the moonroof, but perfect otherwise.

'04 6mt navi, March built. So far, no rattles, squeaks, creaks or any other problems. This car is really quiet and very well built. I went over the car very carefully before I purchased it, and found no defects or any misalligned parts. I did replace the tires with Michellin Pilot Sport PS-2's and that was the best thing I did since buying the car. Those tires are excellent, but not for winter driving. I don't know if it makes any difference, but my car was built on a Tuesday or Wednesday and was as perfect as a production car could ever be. I haven't had to return it to the dealer yet for any warranty issue, and am still waiting for my first oil change.

My 2005 so far is rock solid. I have the Michelins, thankfully. I've never been much of a Bridgestone fan. Too soft, IMHO.

I have yet to hear any rattles, and haven't noticed any driveline vibration.

We have two. Late build 04 Navi AT with 1200 miles and BT tires. And, 05 Navi AT with 2400 miles and Michelin tires. There is nary a squeak or rattle in either car. Both sets of tires seem just as good on recent slick roads.

I have an 05 Navi with 5AT. Only have about 1000 miles, but no rattles or squeeks, not even when going over RR tracks on the way to work.

I have an 05 5AT with navi and 600 miles. I have a rubbing sound in the center consule once in a while. It is very faint and sounds like leather rubbing on leather. The car is awsome on corners and is very solid over bumps and railroad tracks. It's a blast to drive, very sporty

'04 6MT/Navi built in April with a roof that started rattling at 3,000 miles, now has 4,900.

This coming week is my 3rd trip to the dealer to get it all straightened out.
In each of the 2 previous visits, they fixed my reported rattles and created others.

Got rid of the Bullshitstone EL42'S at 600 miles for Falken Ziex 512's....BIG IMPROVEMENT !

Have also had driver's side tailight assembly and seat memory module replaced.

Otherwise, car is
