The dealership advised me that I needed to replace my PCV. The cost was $150.00 for the job. On the way home, I stop and pickup a new PCV for $25.00 and it took me 5 minutes to replace it. This valve is located below the Oil Stick handle. My question is; Are there more then 1 PCV on a 2005 Acura TL?

There's only one PCV valve and I always change it out when I buy a car. Almost certainly many people don't know about it and it leads to engine sludge formation.
The easiest maintenance item on this car.

Okay, so after I read this post, it got me wondering about mine. I bought my 05 Base back in April and have been doing little things here and there to just maintain it. The previous owner was an Acura tech and pretty much replaced or repaired anything that needed to be done before being sold. I figured why not just buy one without even lookoing at it..


I'm a big Amazon Prime dude and found it and two day shipped it to me. It came in a Non OEM box with the OEM matching numbers and brand part. $19.00

Anyways, mine was super gunky and just looked clogged. Glad I bought it. What I didn't expect was the sudden gain in response from the car. It litterally felt like I reset the ECU. Super surprised!


I had to give my two cents about this because this forum is a huge resource of many things 3G TL and its the little things like a PCV Valve change that I enjoy doing with all the other time consuming ones in between.
