2005 Tl

i was talking to my boss at GE and he has some high contacts with cars.

anyway cut story short.

the changes for the 2005TL
1. Tires
2. Navi with traffic

everything else stays the same.

2006 is the big year for the tl.
2006 also will feature the rl with IMA tech.

Oh boy, the floodgates are now open.

I would be very surprised if the 05 does not have a tire pressure monitoring system.

I am willing to hold out for a MY 2005, but 06 is too far off. Is it really worth the wait?

The 2005 TL will not have the traffic integration for the simple reason that its going to be a big selling point for the RL. XM announced which new cars will be getting navi-traffic when they announced the system.

if you cant wait for a 2006, get a 2004 and then upgrade to the 2007
oh wait then the 2008 is redesigned. but then 2010 is minor redeisgn.

who cares about waiting just buy now and be happy maybe my boss was talking out of his ass, i don tknow.

Buying a 04 this late in the MY means you take a full year of depreciation with the 05 MY coming out in a matter of months.

Yeah, but buying the 05 M, early in the MY, means you will likely have a high mileage car.

Is there anything we cannot argue?

Goto buy a new TL and they will tell you blah blah blah they hold thier value until you want to trade one in and then they will tell you blah blah blah, they don't hold their value that well. Of course they can't explain why they want 6K more for a car on their lot than they want to give me for mine..........aholes.

So is the car to which I was comparing. You know something on the order of your car is worth 11 - 12K and a car in the same color with similar mileage +-3000mi and the dealer wants 18,400 on his used lot. And that 11 - 12K so generously is against retail on a new TL. It's B.S. When you buy one, they tell you as you bend over that you get your money back because they hold their value. When you go back in, they seem to forget that hold their value stuff.

People people people, just buy the dam car now. Every year there will be something better than this year, so theres not point to waiting. If you have so much money that you don't know what to spend it on, just buy a brand new one every year and every year you will get the latest features. There, problem solved.

Acura isn't going to change anything for the 2005's. They might add 1 little thing and they will raise the price of the car. There is no way they are going to introduce any major change after the 1st year. They will have a couple of changes in 2006 and probably some really good ones in 2007. Just look at what they did with that MDX. Back in 2001 the MDX was even hotter than the TL. You had to wait several months for a MDX. The first year model was a 2001 and then 2002 was essentially the same car. The 2003 had a few improvements and the 2004 did too. I would fully expect them to do the same thing for the TL.

2005 - unchanged
2006 - a few changes, nothing major
2007 - a few major changes

It's called "dealer profit", and unfortunately it's a fact of life.

In 06 the TL will really clean up if they do offer 4 wheel drive.
