2005 seats and 2008 seats

So i was planning on replacing my 2008 TL seats with some 2005 TL seats i found in mint condition, would there be an issue making the change with it fitting on my 08 or any airbag issues ?

Just looked at the part #s and it looks like it should be a direct swap. As long as it's an 05 and not an 04.

I think the airbag module in the passenger seat is different on the 04-06 from the 07-08. Maybe it's easy to swap the modules. 🤷‍♂️

You might need to re-initialize the OPDS and weight sensor in the passenger seat.

As far as the drivers seat goes, 05 to 08 share the same air bag module.

scratch that..
An 08 OPDS will not work with 05 SRS unit, and they are tied together. And the OPDS is also tied to the seat heaters, airbag and weight sensor.
You should be able to move your 05 OPDS to the new seat, tbut hen you will have to splice a lot of wires. Including the shielding inside the cables.
But it should work
The cables from the seat components that connect to the OPDS, have a different form factor.. So that is what splices.
I dont remember the other connections from the OPDS to the SRS unit which goes through the floor, but I think you should not have to worry about that if you keep the orignal OPDS
