2005 Non-Nav TL trunk cargo tray

I ordered a trunk cargo tray from Curry Acura on eBay and when I put it in my trunk this morning, I discovered that the entire area behind the right rear wheel is not covered.
I called Curry, thinking they shipped the wrong part, and the gentleman in the parts dept told me the tray would cover entirely the trunk if I had the OEM Navigation.
Since I own a non-Nava TL, there's this gap and I refuse to keep something that doesn't fit perfectly. I'm returning the item to Curry.

I can't believe Acura designed something so poorly. Why not have 2 different trays, one for Nav and one for non-Nav ........... or hide the Nav somewhere else?

By the way, the Nav must be a pretty big system to need so much room in the trunk, like the size of a car battery.

I'm curious to know what owners of non-Nav TLs have done to cover entirely the trunk.

Thanks for your help.

I just put mine and and see the huge gap on the right side. I argued with the dealer but that's the only one that comes with it so I'm screwed coz I don't have an alternative. I think that the other brands wouldn't have the custom look to them so I'm just going to stick with this one. Good luck with yours.

That's odd, I didn't know there was two types. I have a navi w/ my TL and the trunk tray that I got from acura covers the whole trunk. Did they tell you that was the only one available? Perhaps the non-navi version is no longer made?

I have a non-navi TL as well with a trunk tray. I don't mind the fact that it doesn't cover the entire trunk. That's where I put my CDs/DVD-As with the CD case. I also have a bag with all of my cleaning supplies in that area, too.

I think the weathertech mat fits the non nav... cuz a few of the nav guys have complained about it not fitting because of it... regardless there is a large cargo net and a small cargo net that came with the car inside the donut... if you install the small cargo net correctly you will notice that the cargo net protects the nav box from items in the trunk... and for the non nav it will suit you as a spot where you can put stuff free from movement

I stand correct it, I do have that missing gap. I guess it never bothered me so I didn't make much of it!

I recently traded an 04 non-navi for an 08 navi. I took the trunk tray out of the 04 to put in the 08. While the same tray fits both models, the gap in the non-navi was a little more pronounced because the navi unit tends to fill the gap better. I personally never really noticed the gap in either car until you mentioned it here. To me it isn't a big deal but I don't think you're going to find a tray that fits any better.

put up a net there to cover that area or put a bottle of windshield wiper fluid or one of those emergency kits.

a 6-pack or a few vodka/whiskey/gin bottles on their sides will fit in the gap very very w/little to no rolling
