In TX insurance companies like to rape us. Plus I'm one year younger than age 25 which is when they consider you 'more responsible adult (whatever)' so then the rate will drop.

Insurance Cost
Guys this is a very tough number to discuss generically especially if you are unmarried and under 30. I pay 1400.00 per year for both of my vehicles. 2008 TL, 2003 Mountaineer. Full coverage with an umbrella policy of 2,000,000 cap.
I live in Atlanta. I have a $250.00 deductible, rental coverage. You really cant get more coverage then what I have.
The PROS- I am married, over 35, no tickets on record for 7 years, and TL isnt considered a sport car. I own a home. All my insurance is with 1 company. That being Amica. They are AAA rated and it is a mutual company meaning the customers are the owners and enjoy the dividends in the form of lower rates, and free months of coverage. I only pay insurance 9 months out of the year.
This all benefits me tremendously. I dont pay much as you can see.
If you are under 30, unmarried, dont own a home you are considered much higher risk and your rates will be much higher.
The variables are the model car, obviously we're talking TL's, the year of the vehicle, driving record, location, addons (alarm, garage, airbags, etc) and of course the insurance company. There is an old saying that you get what you pay for. You pay a little more for State Farm, Amica, Allstate but you do have a little more reliability behind you.
