2004 TL Cabin Filter - Can't Get the Glove Box to Release!

Hello fellow TL owners, this is my first post here. My TL has over 100k miles on it and I've only replaced the cabin filter once due to my cheapness.

I did a search on this site and couldn't find anything for the 04 TL Cabin Filter. I recently watched a Youtube video and the directions said to squeeze the sides of the glove box to drop it down, however the 04 TL doesn't work that way. Does anyone know how I can drop the glove box down? I stuck a screwdriver in the side and tried to pry the glove box down but that didn't work. Thanks in advance for any help.

With both hands pull on the bottom of the glove box, and the side at the same time. It will take a little force but don't go pulling with all your strength.

omg, thank you all so much. It took me all of 15 minutes to do once I had the 04 instructions. I really appreciate you helping a stranger out. If I met you in real life, I would give you a hug.

I'd prefer a beer.

After enough beers, we can discuss hugs.

The 3G Acura TL cabin filter access has got to be the worse, most f---ed up design I have ever seen. You have to wonder what those people were drinking or smoking when they got to that part of the car. Pure crap.

I picked up filters last week and I think I'm going to do the cut out as well. I do about 45K a year so I should be changing the CAF two or three times a year.

Sorry to disappoint you, I'm a dude so high fives and fist bumps all around! I was just on a little mental high last night after changing out the cabin filter myself for the first time. This forum is really awesome and helpful and I'm glad I finally joined after being a lurker for many years.
