Talking 2004 TL or 2007 TL? HELP PLEASE

HI to everyone, i had around 2-3 months lookin to purchases a Acura TL(2004-2007) between that range. I need some help on which one will cost less at long run. a 2004 tl(white pearl or black) here in puerto rico are around 12,000-14,000$ and a 2007(white pearl or black) is around 19,000-23,000$ both prices are plus APR. my quastion are it is woth to buy a 2004 and do all the modification(fog, side markers, mirrors, taillight, full aspec kit, spoiler, ect, ect) or just get the 2007 that came with almost all the features? thank a lot

Welcome to the forums!

On to your post:
Whats your budget? Mileage an issue, want low or high? You gave your ranges in prices for the yrs. If I had the chance to choose between those yrs. I would get the 07s since most small kinks have been fixed over the generation of the car.

Also as you will read in the forums there are cases of tranny failure in the 04s that plagued the 2nd Gen TLs and they have a stiffer ride to them. Just be weary of potential problems for that yr.

I would say get a 07 and do mods. But it also depends on your budget.

Same here the 04's are good cars but the 07 has many many more additions and upgrades that are worth it. I say go for the 07+ if you can swing it. You might kick yourself someday if you settled for an earlier year knowing that you wanted the newer one.

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking to get an 07-08 TL by this year and hopefully they will have a white exterior, black interior, with lip kits and deck lid around my area

'07 has the lower driving lights and deeper grill which are nice, but turn signal mirrors are kinda' gimmicky and the '04-06 wheels are much more stylish than the '07 base, both IMO. Tails are slightly different, but I'd switch to Type-S tails either way. There was a thread on here that listed all the differences by year, which may help you decide.

Get what you can afford. Getting the 04-06 model will give you more money in you pocket to do mods like J-pipe, Intake, & Exhaust. If you're not looking to do mods like this then maybe the 07 will suffice. The navi in the 04-06 were hackable as well to give you instant mpgs vs. the avg the MID gives you amongst other things.

I would go for the 07 of the two options that you gave... not for the aesthetic differences but because of the bugs that inevitably get ironed out in the models released after the initial year. An 04 would be the first year released so it won't have any of the little tweaks that Acura made to the following years. That said, I would go for an 05-06 base TL. Best bang for your buck.

Newer cars are always going to be refined and better in some ways. I would go with whatever your pocket can afford. I have 04 6mt and don't have any complains about
