2004 acura tl

hey guys. i just bought a 04 TL which has about less than 1 year warranty left on it. I was wondering if i still can go buy a extended warranty for it. It has 22k miles. I am really worried about the transmission because i hear a lot of bad stories.

Also! who has an 04 tl w/o navi? Does the passanger side mirror dip down when it goes into reverse? I swore when i test drived it, it went down. Now i have it at home, it doesnt go down!!

Warranty - check with dealership or a place online
Mirror - the 'active' mirror is the one that will respond; if you have your mirror switch in the middle position - aka off - the mirror will not lower when put into reverse. Try flipping the switch to L or R and see if it works

I have an '04, built and purchased in July of that year by me when new. Have never had one iota of a problem with the tranny. Of course, it's a manual so I wouldn't expect any problems anyway.

My other TL is an '05 automatic (the wife's) and it has also been completely trouble free which is a blessing compared to her previous car; a '96 BMW 328i.

Both have Navi.

The sound is optional. RTFM. There are tons of things you can change on this car, and that's one of them

Also, I had almost the exact same experience with the mirrors . So then it was RTFM time for me Even more embarrassing, it was my wife that found it!

I hope your joking about RTFM. If not...Read the F@#%ing Manual. It does help.

You can set the sound when pressing lock twice in the settings on the monitor in the speedos.

04 6MT non-navi TL. 51,000 miles. No tranny problems. Gotta agree with the group here. You need to read the owner's manual to figure out how to make use of all the features. One of the better ones I like is using the key fob to lower the windows. You can also uses the the key itself to open and close all windows and sunroof. ...thus the need to read up. Congrats and happy motoring!

Hello. Today i drove my car without the music on. I seem to hear a whinning sound coming from the car. I have read it on the fourms somewhere about this, i can't seem to find it. What is this whinning? Its not that loud. you have to really listen to it to hear it.
