It's definately not that good from a dead stop. I was frustrated that night with the 2.2 60'. I've always been able to get a RWD car on street tires into the 1.9s. It is pretty cool though to have the traction control light flash when you nail it from a 50mph roll.

Did you turn the traction control off on any of the runs?

I know the car is heavy but the power should compensate the weight well.

First run was with traction control on and just mashing the gas. The rest were with it off. While it was faster without traction control, I was having to feather throttle up to 70mph. The track was just no good for street tires, in fact, it was way worse traction than the street. I was neck and neck with a Viper which is amazing because rear was skating around for nearly half the run. The Viper owner said it looked pretty cool to see the big Benz sliding like that.

There's no doubt the car had an 11.40 or 11.50 in it with traction. She's a pig though, 5,000lbs if I remember right.

The funny thing is the car was sold to a semi-famous friend of mine which happens to be female. I can't believe she's still alive.

Damn, JJ......that's a cool vid...thanks for sharing....never knew that the TL-P with those mods would top out over a 3G 5AT.

How much of a gain do you have over stock with those boltons? I still wanna dyno mine when I get the chance. Just dropped $300 on changing out tires for winter.

Well lets just hope she stays alive.

It hung with a viper?????????

My cousins boss has an s550, and when he wen on his honey moon we took real good care of it.

The car is fast for such a heavy & long car. the seats freaked me out though.
they kept poking me in the side everytime i turned. the 0-60 is in the mid 4's if im not mistaken

I test drove an IS-F and i didnt want to return to the dealership but the salesman got scared i guess. hell of a car, hell of a price tag too. im leaning towards a 3g TL-S though

Luckily she doesn't know how to disable traction control but it still hits 100mph very quickly.

I caught the Viper sleeping at the line, launched about .5 seconds sooner. He was barely running me down but I was still skating all over the place.

LOL@ the S550. I've been lucky enough to have friends with nice cars back when we were 17 and got pulled over a couple times because the cops thought the car was stolen and we were joyriding.

I seriously think my car attracts ricers.
On friday night, my girl and i decided to take advantage of the cool weather in miami.
Im heading north on I-95 wen i see two sets of headlight weaving in and out of traffic and getting closer. one finally pulled behind me and my girl looked at me and said "No" so i gladly moved over and a white ford focus and a 4 door civic si passed me with a bunch of noice. i got right back behind them and just after you past ft lauderdale airport i saw the biggest gap in traffic. i took my foot off the gas dropped the car in second and floored it. within seconds i was on the focuses tail, i pulled like a foot away from his car and switched lanes to pass him. moving on i guess the driver of the si saw me and slowed down. again i dropped to second and got behind him. i floored it and past him and the poor guy was so surprised that he kept coming bak, so i slowed down flipped him a bird and took off. havent seen him since. it was a good night until i slowed down and my girl threw a tantrum.

The also have gateshifting which may help..
To my knowledge, only the '99 TL-P can hold 1st gear to redline. '00+ TL and TL-S automatically shift to 2nd gear when you hit redline.

Dont let "one" race fool you, the TL-P with only I/H is not faster than a stock 2nd gen TL-S.

correct. 2nd gen TL-P with intake/headers/exhaust/pulley will be on par with 2nd gen stock TL-S.
