It'll be close, but I speculate that you will lose by a car length, they have a lot of torque.

There's this dude that works across the street from me with a black 540i 6spd and he's always talking about it. I'm pretty sure the word "race" will come up anytime now lol.

J-pipe is coming on in a week and a half .. maybe that'll improve my chances lol.

Sorry OP but I don't see it happening with the autotrajic. There's always the chance that he sucks at driving...alot

And yeah angelloi is right, your best bet would be a roll at ~40ish, these things never stop pulling up top..

I don't think it's possible...the 540i with a 6MT is a beast.

Manual Transmission

For stocks the only Acura contenders would be:

- 3rd gen Acura TL regular trim 6MT
- 3rd gen Acura TL Type-S 6MT

It'll be driver's race.

No AUTO's.


With both driver being similarly good the 540i (if it's in good condition) 6MT will take out 3rd gen Acura TL Type-S 5AT. The Type-S Auto hovers around 14.5~ 15 sec quarter mile. Also, for 0-150 mph, you need the TL 6MT or Type-S 6MT to compete against the 540i 6MT. it'll be neck and neck. And no, the regular trim 5AT TL will have no chance.

did you miss the video? CL-S 6MT wasn't exactly neck and neck. i can't say the TL 6MT is any faster than a CL-S
