Post 2002 Chevy Lumina SS Commodre pic's

I just wanted to share these photos of a 2002 Chevy Lumina SS Commodre that my friend imported from the Middle East
Its got a 3RD Generation V-8 Engine 5.7L that delivers about 325HP, and my budy has the after market upgrade (550 HP).
And its a rear wheel drive
If you have any question, please save them untill you see 10 posted pic's

And finally 10
This is what we call 2004 GTO, which will only be available with 2D (Coupe)
Now, you can ask any question.
I have the same vehicle and wanted to import it, but was told that my engine will be cut to reduce HP, and i refused.
And my budy only got it through because he is a diplomat
Mine is Metalic Gold or what we call (Burned Orange)

No disrespect intended, but that may be the ugliest vechicle I have ever seen. And to make things worse it is a Chevy.

Also, you know this is an Acura forum, right?

Still, interesting to see though. Thanks.

Looks like a Holden Commodore from Oz. Holden is a GM subsidiary.

Qatar, how about another picture of your A-Spec?

I'm amazed that the General doesn't sell that car here, it would sell well among the dedicated Chevy-heads.

Reminds me of a souped up Prizm or even a more round Cavalier. Not for me even with the 5.7.

The GTO is based on the Holden Monaro, which is the two-door version of the Commodore.

I thought that the car was pretty ugly when i saw it for the first time, and it didn't appeal to me at all, but after owning one, the story line changed.
This car is amazingly fast (Stock) and after modification, let anybody try to overtake (all they can do is try), the Lumina SS is one of the most popular sport sedans in the Middle East in adition to Chevy Caprice SS, which has more HP and a bigger engine.
I can take more pic's once i see my budy
And he moved to Virginia

Is this not the car the Caddillac Catera was based on? They look nearly identical in proportion and general shape.

jwaters943,
Caddillac Catera is based on Opel Vectra, not Chevy.
Danno, i don't really know, and actually, i didn't care a lot to what they did, as much as i cared about how many extra ponny's i got.
But I believe that the modification was to the engine its self.
We have people that build engines, and i don't know if you would believe this or not, but a budy of mine had a Nissan (Arawi) and its a pickup truck and it had a 4 speed manual gear, and my budy took the whole thing out and put a 5 speed manual gear in his yard, and thats not something common where i come from, because all things are done in professional garages

Qatar, the Caddy Catera, Commodore, and your Lumina are all based on GM's Opel Vectra platform. The Catera just never got the power it deserved until they renamed it CTS and gave us the CTS-V with the Corvette's 405hp V*.
