I was looking around on ebay and found this interesting TL. Does this TL belong to anyone here?

He expects someone to pay more than MSRP for that?? and thats just where he started the bid, not even a buy it now
I just don't get what goes through some peoples minds.

 

What a way to ruin a TL. I think it looks weird without the door handles, at least the owner did something right and put the Comptech exhaust.

 

Funny thing is that the person wants $36,000 for a 1 year old car with 22,000 miles on it Definitely unique with the shaved door handles and the two tone paint, but not worth the extra money IMO. I couldn't see myself driving it.

 

Actually read the ad, he says that isn't even his car...

that should be illegal. People get fooled on EBAY all the time...

 

He probably added the pics later since his description fits the car to a T and there aren't a whole lot of TLs that look like that running around.

 

Kind of cool car....cant believe he thinks its worth that much. Maybe to the right person with money to throw away? Dont people know all that stuff ends up adding NO VALUE to the car - and in many cases....loses value? I am not too sure that this is not one of those "he'll have to find the right person" deal. Seems overpriced.

 

I really cant even think of the right word to describe just how ugly that car is....

 

Ya...I cant say I care for that paintjob - and whats up with the fact that he can pop for about $5000 worth of paintjob - but wont pop for some rims and tires too? Kind of seems like it begs the question here!

Ha.....I wish you could hear me laughing right now! How True....I will give him kudos for the door handle shave...never seen that before on a TL.....other than that....old news badly applied (I guess we can give him an ok for the comptech exhaust - but the paint cancels the credit there!)

i dont think its that bad lookin.the price does kinda sound like he sniffed the paint while doing the car but it looks kinda unique to me imo.

it would have looked decent if he didn't have the barbwire action goin and used a better color to contrast... the shaved doors is a first on the 3rd Gen TL... looks pretty slick

^ Usually with shaved door handle mods, you have a motor that pops the door open slightly when you hit the "unlock" button.

That being said, I agree with the "eye/sight pollution" coment made earlier in the thread. It is unique, but ugly (IMO) and waaayyy overpriced..

To each his own. He gets originality points and there's probably someone out there who may want a TL like that with all the exterior work already done..

 

i have to agree with you here, that shaved handle mod does look good.

what I dont get is someone actually got done painting that and thought "now that looks hot"

I agree. I like the shaved look, just wouldn't pay for it unless i could get a discount. The TL already gets looks when i drive it but pulling up next too someone at a light would get it a double-take.

 

I wouldnt really mind the shave door mod but I can see a scratch in the paint slowy forming over time because of the constant bashing of my hand against the car looking for the handle.

Also some people with shaved door handles just use their key to roll the window down and then open the door from the inside...atleast that is what some of my friends do on some of their cars
