1st Modification Advice

I'm n00b to the Acura tuning scene and and needs some advice. I have a totally stock 07 WDP non Type-S (given to me by my dad), other than the tinted windows I am getting done Tuesday (5% rear, 20% side) and would like some advice what I should do first to modify. I really don't have a prefence astically or mechanical wise, just want some opinions. BTW, I'm not looking for a flashy vehicle, no offense, I just want a sprtly looking vehicle. Thanks for the input.

Get a rear swaybar- it tightens the turning dramatically and doesn't affect ride. That was my first modification. The LED lights in the cabin are a nice second mod. That's all I've done besides tints.

progress sway bar, it will tighten the rear suspension and give the car much better handling, reduce body roll during turns and reduce understeer. Also it is undetectable by the dealer until someone really pays attention.

Damn 5% is DARRKKKKKK!!!!!! Hopefully you live somewhere where cops don't bother you too much.

BTW in my opinion there is a BIGGG difference between looking flashy and looking good. Some people can add a little bit of flash but still make the car look sporty.

If you want to make it look sporty I would say go with the aspec front lip and ask KB1spec to get the carbonfiber underspoiler for that lip.(its a beautiful thing) Then I would lower it and put rims and there you go, YOU have yourself one sporty ass car.

Does it matter if the dealer notices? Does it void the warranty?
Comparing progress to comptech, which one is better?

Dealers rules varies from dealers to dealers. Some dealers do not mind aftermarket parts and some do. Just depends on your dealership. Honestly it wouldn't matter if they noticed it or not. The difference between Comptech and Progress is Comptechs bar is 22mm and Progress is 24. To the OP I also agree on getting the progress sway bar, you could do a intake, ur pulley, p2r package, etc. You could also switch out all the interior lights for some leds which always looks great.

backup camera, 9500ci radar detector integrated, peripheral ipod adapter... add some functionality rather than extra plastic!

A-spec lip kit and A-spec gunmetal wheels. They can be ordered through Tim@ hondaacuraworld.com. He is a vendor here on AZ.

Chris,

If you're not looking for flashy, just sporty-consider a roof spoiler. You can do it for under $100 and it's a simple install with 2 sided tape. Plus, they look very nice without being flashy.

No tint laws in Oklahoma from what the installer said. Do you think 5% is too dark? They either have 5% or 20%.

5% it is then but have you sat in a car that has 5% tint it is so hard to see out the rear. The only solution I can see fit for this problem is a back up camera

Chris,

I've got 20% and it's great. You can see out, but others cannot see in.

I would love to see some pics of 20% all the way around, esp. on WDP w/ black interior. Thanks.

When my stablizer ends links broke, the dealer wouldn't warranty them because I had a thicker aftermarket stabilizer bar installed. Apparently, heavier bars may tend to put a little more stress on those links. But it took mine 4 years to go sour, so take everyone's advice here about installing a thicker rear stabilizer.

The longer you wait, the more you'll look back afterward wishing you had done it sooner.

Good luck

Thanks for the input everyone! I think I'm going to put on the Dragon R short ram intake b/c I really don't feel like removing the bumper and tire.

Anyone know of a AcuraZine sponsor that sells these? Where is another good place to get them if there are no sponsors?

Chris,

Sorry I don't have a WDP, just an ASM with the 20% tints. Plus, I did the same thing for the headlights too. The tints are from BlueBatmobile.net. I got the 20% half tints so the tints do not cover the 2 headlights, just the side markers. I like the consistency from the headlights to the window tints.

Aspec kit and Type-S tail lights. Just those two mods alone makes the WDP 10 times hotter and will definitely turn heads.

1. Tint
2. Swap Interior lights and back up lights, license plate lights (very easy 500% satisfyin check the LED thread or search my name and u'll see)
3. If you have the $$ to spend, A spec body kit, Type S lights
4. New rims (check out RonJon ones) + Lower your car
5. Black / Clear out your head lights *Only reason this is number 5 is its kinda hard to do unless you get someone to do it for you (JnC)* but one of the best mod i think.
6. Remove front license plate and get a decal on that ACURA or just leave it how it is =)

and theres just too many haha but yeah good luck =P

I would get some coilovers and a camber kit for my first mod. That'll make the car look real sporty.

for your first mods, do u prefer engine or mods for looks? back when there weren't many mods for the tl, everyone started with the cold air intake and the rear sway bar. both fairly cheap and u can definitely feel the difference.
