1980+ ES500 NINJA vs. 05 CTS-V, street race in Mexico

Hey guys and girls. This is a cut and paste from a race I had a few months back. Just wanted to put out some more V runs.. And yes Im also lookin for some of my losses that I posted too.

Ok, this guy in Frisco had a 1980+ ninja and was just cruising around the block! His Bike was so old that I thought it was a Moped at first until I got up on it!

The ninja was in front, followed by a new Eclipse (that tried to hang for a second) and I was behind them both just waiting for them to make a move while I was in stealth mode. The eclipse tried to keep up with him but couldn’t keep up so he gave up and turned off...

I decided to make my move and dropped her into second and flew up beside him and slowed down... It looked like he didn’t want to play so I got in front of him and stopped at the next light with him behind me!!! He then did a little baby rev. The light turned green and I punched it and got about 1 1/2 to 2 cars on him (because he was behind me and had to get in the right lane during the launch).

He then pulled it back to about 1 car but what’s "crazy" is that every time I started to run out the end of my gears I would put about another 1 1/2 cars on him, but he would pull me back in to about 1/2 a car to 1 car as I would shift to the next gear!!!! Oh he would have TOTALY had me in by about 1 bike in 1st gear and maybe 2 seconds in 2nd gear but that’s about it!!!! I GOT MY FIRST NINJA KILL!!!! Who cares if it was almost older then me.

I'm not sure about the old R6, but the new R6 is quicker and handles better than R1 but not faster. For the race between cars and bikes, if a car can get up to 180mph at ease or under 10s 1/4 (base on 04 R1 stock) then would be talking. Otherwise bike wins.

lol. I try and stay away from bikes! Its no use even trying to run them. I may do some peppi highway driving with them but I wouldnt waste the bikes time tryin to run balls out.

You'd be surprised how many guys can't get their liter bike below 11.00, or even 11.5 for that matter, even though they have low 10 or even high 9 second potential. It's way tougher than with cars to duplicate magazine times. At the other end of the spectrum, my friend could rip off consistent low 9.60's @ 145+ all day long on his ZX14 with just an exhaust. Your average schlep on the street will usually fall into the former category though, so a well set up mid/high 11 second car can stay in the game for awhile, especially if the bike bogs or wheelies out of the hole.
