180KMH at Third Gear

well i unknowingly reached 180KMH, that's approx 112MPH for you americans, at 3rd gear using SS....i didnt notice till the rev limiter kicked in at redline...i was so concentrated at the road that i forgot to upshift...was aiming for at least 200KMH but backed down since it was just a one lane semi-paved road....this car has power!

What top speed were you able to achieve in your TL? I've never pushed mine that hard so was just curious. There are plenty of straight open (un patrolled) roads around me so that's not an excuse. I heard that it was govered also so everyone maybe topping out at the same speed.

thats as fast as ive driven my TL....and by the way, i later found out that the road was heavily patrolled by the police, was just lucky to have gotten away with it...

I took mine to a little over 150mph down on a really long steet called coltrane (its out in the middle of nowhere here in Oklahoma, so no Cops) the mile after I broke in my TL @ 601miles. Mayn.... was it a rush. Its awesome that the control and handling is great even at that high of speeds.

Here is a C&D article on TL:

http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?
section_id=19&article_id=7062&page_number=2

C/D-estimated performance (6-sp manual):
Zero to 60 mph 6.0 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 15.7 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 14.7 @ 97 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 140 mph

Projected fuel economy:
EPA city driving: 19 mpg
EPA highway driving: 28-29 mpg

So, how did you guys get 150 mph? Is C&D talking out of the wrong end again?
