18" Wheels, who got them??

I have heard a lot of talk about the pros and cons of the 18" versus 17" and the differences in the tires.

Has anyone actually purchased the 18"s, and if so please give us, me, the details. I am trying to negotiate with the dealer about them; but it's really me asking a lot of questions they can't or won't answer.

I am interested in the price paid and did it come with the 'recommended' Yokohama or with tires at all???

I am hearing some folks getting 40% off on dealer accessories; does this include the 18"s???

Thanks,
Information deprivation

I bought mine with the 18" wheels. I think they look great. I paid $350 a wheel for them. I know that sounds expensive but I looked at other brands and they just don't look as nice as the Acura branded wheels. The tires are seperate: I ended up getting the Toyo Proxies FZ4 on them. They gave me a minimal trade-in value for the stock tires. They also offered a trade in value for the wheels but I decided to keep them and sell them later or have some other tires put on them for really bad weather conditions.

I got the 18" OEM rims with Yokohama ES100s. I got an $800 credit for the stock rims and tires and paid 1250 for the new wheels and tires installed.

Now that is a deal. I would get 18s for that price!

Sweet ride.

Is it really anthracite? It looked like the green color.

Boy those 18's look nice even on the stock TL. How is the ride quality? Any difference in handling vs the 17's? Thanks!

Yes it is tha Anthracite. My camera is not that good.

I think it handles much better than the 17s. It is a little rougher but definitely worth it.

looks great in the green.

I am not sure the % tint, but the back window is darker than the 4 doors. Supposedly the law down here in Tx on sedans is all 4 doors have to be the legal tint.

this car looks really sweet. looking at it from 3 different angles, it seems like a morph of the best of three cars: unmistakably acura from the front, bmw from the side, and mb e- or s-class from the back. very very sexy design.

by the way, are all-season tires available with the 18" rims? like conti extreme contact or something? too lazy to look on tire rack hehe

Notice how in both colors, the wheels take on the hue of the color car it's on? I didn't notice it until looking at just now. Here in Oregon, you're allowed 20% for the back windows and 35% for the front windows. I have to take mine back cause they forgot about the sunroof. I had them do 35% on all the windows although I may go 20% for the sunroof.

It could be but if you have that much snow to drive in, then you should probably be using different wheels with AS/Snow tires. Maybe use the 17" wheels for that?

Yes you can get them. Tirerack has several you can choose from and I think the Conti Extreme Contacts are one of them. Not sure I would that tire though. I would probably opt for the Michelins.

Michelins are pretty darn expensive. Is there something wrong with the Conti's in your opinion?

Only from what I read of the reviews on TireRack. Very inconsistant customer satisfaction. I didn't see one for the Michelins.

Which specific all season Michelins would you recommend with the 18" wheels?
