18 inch wheels-opinions?
Any thoughts on this option? Are they worth the $1516 (performance)? Anyone have them or seen them in person? How do they look? I've seen the pictures.
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you're going to upgrade your wheels, why not pick out something unique rather than getting the Acura wheels? I'm not sure I fully understand, but it seems like for $1200 you could find something really nice that would be uncommon on the car.

But i think if you buy cheap after market rims for your car you will definately comproise on ride quality, rim bending easy, you won't probbaly get the right off set , what do u think ? just the way i feel . I might be wrong.

tires for 18" wheels
Can I get the 18" wheels with all season tires instead of low-profile performance tires? I like the larger rims, but I also like a comfortable ride!

18 inch wheels
I saw the 18" wheels this weekend on an Anthracite with ebony interior......my opinions are the color looked nice on the anthracite but the wheels were to ghetto looking for my taste......too low profile and screamed aftermaket to me.

The rims look very sharp. I probably wouldn't get them myself because I think the originals look fine and ride is probably a little softer with the 17s and extra money.
Off the topic, but noticed that this TL has the body side molding (protective molding). Didn't think it would look good, but now I think it does look good (at least on this loaded model). What do you think? ...... then back to the thread, sorry.

Something I don't understand
So when one buys these rims as an option do you have to pay for the rims + tires? Or does the $1300 or so dollars come with the tires and wheels upgrade?
A little confused on this...

Ok $1300 isn't bad but consider that you are not taking the 17" rims home too (Am I worng on this also)?
Also this would be weird if on the acura.com quoter they would just include these with no reference of having to buy tires.
My dealer doesn't have a clue on this option (then again he didn't know what cars came with the brembo brakes.)
Thanks for the info!!

Is it just the rims for that price? I thought it was included in a package. I would just buy new, 18" wheels instead of paying them the $$$ for the wheels. Cause if u add the $$$ for the wheels in the financing, your paying more for the rims that u think.
High quality 18" wheels will cost ya at least $2,000. But it would set ya apart from the factory 18s.
The factory 18s look really good.

the 18 inchers are wheels and rims, but dont come with tires.... also, if you choose to add the 18 inch wheels, you have to keep the 17 inch ones.... or you could try to sell them on ebay or to a local auto shop i guess.

That's just sweet, love the factory 18s. And the nighthawk black is pretty awesome too.
Ok now to buy a 2007 TL when my lease is up on my 2003 TL Type S.

When I looked at an 03 TL vs the 04, the calipers were very close to the face of the wheel, but on the 04, there is a good 2" between the face of the wheel and the caliper. Just my judgement.

I don't know too much about the 18" rims/tire package that you can order with the 2004 TL......just wanted to know a few things. (please don't be annoyed because i've owned only sport utes so far and this is my first sedan so i'm still new to some concepts)
Neways 1st question if i were to get the 04 with 18" would i still get a nice ride or would the ride quality be really stiff. (i want a sporty looking & performing car but if the ride is too stiff that wouldn't be too good)
2nd question ... on the 18" how long do the tires on there last ?
3rd question.... i'm sure that tires for the 18" cost more to change but what's the average price for a 18" tire for the TL?
4th question ..... so i guess what i'm asking is it overall a good idea to order the new TL with the option rim package. (i like the look i just wanted to know if i was sacraficing too much ride quality and if the cost of tires and how often u had to change them would get too costly)
P.S. i live in Sunny So. Cal so if that makes a difference let me know.....thanx ahead of time guys i appreciate it.
George.
