16" snow tire question

I did a search for this, but didn't see much that helped my question. I've been told by a number of people that getting 16" rims and tires for my '05 TL for winter driving would be best. I live in Minnesota so our winters can be pretty bad. I've been looking at the tire rack for rims and tires and have found some pretty decent prices on some dulop m3 winter performance tires. Have any of you experimented with 16" for snow tires? Also, I can't confirm if the '05 TL has the tire monitoring system. I would assume so?

As far as I know you can do 16" according to the tire rack. They had some snow tire packages rims and tires that say they'll work on a '05 TL. Hopefully someone can shed some more light. I'm not sure about the tire monitoring system. Anyone got any ideas?

I run 16 inch bridgestone blizzak tires in the winter with no problems. I also had a set of TPMS installed on the winter rims that works great.

My ride is an 06 and not an 05.

I also I don't think the 05 had the TPMS system.

Only on a 5AT. On a 6MT the 16s will hit the brake caliper. Likely the same for all TL-S.

Look at my signature below for Winter Tire Sizing and steel wheel option.

I bought the steel wheel from my local Acura dealer for $50CDN each (Brand new)

I have chosen Nokian Tires because in my 16 past winter experience with those tires, I will not have anything else for Winter Tires.

You will notice that I have choosen 205/60R16 instead of the proposed 215/55R16 by the dealer.

This decision came about that the 205/60R16 is narrower then the 215/55R16 and there was a $50 premium per tire for the 215/55R16 (Not as common as the 205/60R16)

TPMS wasn't available until 06 otherwise it would be in your info display also, i dunno about any place like minnesota or quebec but Blizzak's are a good winter tire, my mom uses them in her 1985 BMW 325e and never had a problem

A lot around here use the Accord 16" rims and XXXX tire .. any winter is going to be 500% better than an all season .. I went with the Dunlops from Walmart and am totally pleased. And we get "Winter" up here and I live on a mountain.
