16 days smh !
So i drop my girlfriend off at her house gotta jet. Throw the car in reverse then as i get in drive.. and push the gas, all the engine does is rev like the tranny belt isn't even moving anything at all. So immediately i turn the car off.. scratch my head turn it on again now it won't even move ! oh man :\ i turn it off open the hood disconnect the battery then reconnect it thinking maybe the ecu is trippin..? iono
Turn the car on afterwards seemed normal again. Next day driving i find my car just slipping like crazy on the gears so i just decide to drive to Acura. While cruising on the highway since my car is auto it downshifts and on every gear it slipped eventually I lost all transmission basically cruised 400 feet and uturned while almost hitting a 18 wheeler getting into my Acura dealership. At this point i just wanna sledgehammer something cause of the frustration of how my transmission just decides to go out on me like this.
It's been over 2 weeks, and my warranty is still.... shipping the tranny. On top they also found all the hoses for power steering were leaking too
The part i the most is that since i'm not 21 years old Acura can't give me a loaner vehicle due to my age. Instead my dad gets the 2010 TL to have fun with while i'm stuck with his... Pontiac Aztek. Very painful days indeed. Not sure how much longer i can survive like this
miss my baby (

sorry but hahahhaha at you driving the Pontiak Aztec, while your dad gets to drive the '10!
since its all covered under warranty, just wait that shit out.
you'll get your car back soon.
(hopefully they dont void the warranty due to your cheap mods )

Damn I know how you feel man. My car has been in the body shop for like almost 2 weeks cause of a fender bender. I got a Jeep SUV as a rental though. I miss my TL.

Be happy that you dont own a 2nd gen and are not SOL when it comes to warranty.
Its worth having to drive an Aztek for a week, then having to shell out $4grand out of pocket for a new tranny.

Sorry to hear about your car. I was just wondering what maintenance you did if any for the tranny? Did you change out the 3rd and 4th gear sensors? Have you always used Z1 tranny fluid? How often did you change your fluid?

hey maybe try and convince your dad to buy a new TL, now that he has been rocking it for two weeks already, and might be disappoint when going back to that fugly thing you call a vehicle (aztek)
and you know sometimes they do have to INDEED wait on parts, not much they can really do about, other then wait also (our waiting to get the warrenty approved, before they can even ORDER the part, which again adds time
bodywork does not happen overnight ; it takes time for the paint and what not to dry/cure before they can even put another coat on it

Had the Power Steering Hose Safety Recall been completed previously?
Apparently leaking PS fluid had casued some cars to catch fire. You should be thankful you didn't find out about your leaking hoses that way.

7-Years/100k, whichever comes first.
Edit: ^^ That ain't right. Regular Powertrain warranty is 6-years/70,000 miles.
I must've been thinking of brand x.
