15year old ownership report(UA6 TL)
Time really flew by since I first met my WDP Acura TL at Acura of Alhambra. Even though I’ve lived in Vegas back then, I went all the way to Acura of Alhambra to buy my TL since Acura dealerships(Acura of Las Vegas, Findlay Acura) did not have any WDP in stock. Also, they asked for much more than Acura of Alhambra did. Which was about 3k more at the time I believe. Anyways, it is really hard to believe that it is my 15th year(bought my car new on October 2004) of owning my TL. And I’m not going to lie, during my years of ownership(I plan to own it as long as I could); my TL hasn’t been trouble free(even though I took care of it). However, I’m still deeply in love with my car. I still believe TL is one of the most beautiful cars on the road today. Especially since I live in South Korea currently, TL is a unicorn in Korea roads. Here are some pics of my TL.
Currently, my car is at 130k(still going strong) and here are list of some mods, maintenance, recalls and list of troubles which I've went through during my years of ownership:
Recalls
---------------------------------------------------
Power steering hose
Windshield wiper motor
Some of troubles I’ve went through
---------------------------------------------------
Starter motor: This thing gave up on me 2times which was huge pain in the neck. I think it is common issue with our generation TL.
Radiator cap: This problem happened during the trip back from LA to Vegas. The car felt weird after 2 hours drive on freeway. All of the sudden, the temperature gauge started to go up in the middle of freeway. So I parked my car in the side of the freeway and turned off the engine. Right afterwards, I’ve noticed some smoke coming out in the engine bay. Thank god I’ve had my good friend’s car[Mugened(?) TSX(some pics below, currently, my good friend drives Maserati Ghibli), yeap another Acura LOL] in front of me to help me out. After opening up the engine bay, I’ve realized that coolant was empty. After reading the manual, I filled in some water and drove back to Vegas. I’ve had no issue at all driving back home after filling in the water. Afterwards, I’ve realized it was due to radiator cap which caused the issue. Thank god nothing got damaged and the only thing I’ve had to do was fill in coolant and exchange the radiator cap.

It does seem like you've had a few headaches over the 15 years but its awesome to see that you are the first owner and still enjoy it. Not a big fan of the body kit but in white it look pretty good! Im sure you will hit the 200k mark and many more after that

Yes I did have few headaches over 15 years of ownership, however, like you've mentioned, I enjoyed and still enjoy my TL. As for RJ body kit, I think it looks better in person than in pictures. And thanks, I really look forward to hitting 200k mark and more!
