150 miles on it.....rattle here....rattle there

The rattle that bugs me the most is in the passenger door when the stereo is playing. I've isolated to the lower right hand corner and to the piece of the door that holds the courtesy light (just to the right of the door glove box that opens). All I have to do is hold my hand on it and the rattle goes away.

Anyone have a fix for this one yet?

I found removing the sunglass holder from both map pockets greatly reduces the rattles. Now if I could only get rid of the clicking noice between the drivers side roof grab handle and b pillar!!! Looks like I'll be riding the ST1300 until I can get rid of that noise.

ST 1300, nice comfortable ride.
I might need something like that soon.

That's really the only rattle I've isolated. My wife doesn't seem to mind, but I believe there should be none at this trim level.
happy hunting, I'm just getting started.

Just noticed you have a 954, did you know that you are only 3% of the owner population that owns a Honda bike and an AHM car? Just a little statistical info. The ST1300 is comfy, but it is a free bike from Honda, I am swapping it out for (hopefully) a CBR1000RR next week.

ratlle/creak in roof
yep

i have that headliner rattle (more like a creak) also! i can't determine what it is as it is intermittent. i have a suspicion that it is the plastic molding on the door around the window. i also have the glove box ratlle. and many others that just seem to come and go depending on temp, how far i have driven, alignmentment of planets.... who knows

Rick955i, did you used to ride a triumph?
the only 1000RR's coming these days are the red ones from what I'm told.
3%, AHM = Acura, Honda, M?

Sounds like these things have more rattles than a room full of babies...

I'd be B*LLSHIT if I spent north of $30K to have to put up with that kind of crap!

Sometimes the thicker double-sided tape can do wonders for rattles....

Put on XM Channel 20.

Push the "talk" button.

Say "volume level 25".

Rattles are gone.

Yep, used to have a Sprint RS, very few people catch on to the 955i part of my name.

AHM=American Honda Motors. The RR I will be getting is black, a co-worker has it this month.

Why don't you stick that drum up your ass? Statements like yours are not helping anyone here. In case you were confused, this is a TL board, not Accord!

Perhaps he hits this board because he wishes he bought a TL. Mine has not arrived yet. So I don't know if I will have rattles. But I can take it to the dealer if any develop. Not a nice thing to have to do, but if it has to be done, so be it.

He can take his Accord all he wants to the dealer but in the end, it will still be an Accord.

And by the way, I am not an Accord hater. Had an '85 JDM Accord in Tokyo and a US '87 in Arizona. My Dad had a sweet '86 LXi Hatch back in Utah. The Loving Wife has an 03 Civic.

Some TLs rattle, some don't. It sucks but it happens. Same is true in any model line, regardless of the price point. I'm one of the lucky ones, mine doesn't.

Some Accords rattle, some don't. He's one of the lucky ones too, his doesn't either. More power to him. It doesn't make him any smarter than anyone else, though it does appear to peg his smug-o-meter.

Most Chevies rattle, few don't. While he's so busy trying to rub TL owners' noses in their own rattles, I don't see him bragging one lick about his beloved Camaro. If he lucked out on that one too, good for him again. No doubt he'll attribute his good fortune to his "superior intellect" as well. Couldn't possibly be dumb luck. Not him, no way, no how.

LOL

I was LITERALLY sitting down to address that.

My '99 1LE Camaro is nearly 6 years old and has 73,XXX miles on it...It has ONE errant "rattle" that has existed since the car was new. On very cold days there is a "rattle" coming from somewhere in the dash...It actually sounds like a speedometer cable "chatter" (but isn't, since there isn't one). So I'm pushing by even calling it a "rattle."

And I don't hear that unless it's very cold.

That's it. NOTHING ELSE. NO SQUEEKS. NO VIBRATIONS. NO "BUZZINGS"....NOTHING ELSE. ZILCH. (Of course, the 1LE obtion forbade the "t" tops; their absence stiffens the structure.)

I swear to Jesus Christ Himself that's the truth.

And I also swear that this V6 Accord has NOTHING on that LS1 powered/6 speed Z28 in terms of fuel economy. NOTHING.:wow:

I am happy you enjoy your Camaro. Wonder if the 04 Camaros are as rattle free as yours? Maybe I'll go check one out. Oh wait, they don't make that car anymore. Now I remember, the sales were too low to continue.

Bet a retro-Camaro is on the way in a year or three. Maybe that will be rattle free too.

GM sold ~ 72,500 F -bodies in 2002.

And the assclown who made the comment wasn't discussing "'04Camaros." He was discussing MY Camaro. And MY Camaro is a '99 and would SMOKE that rattle-trap you're driving while getting roughly THE SAME fuel economy.:wow:

In fact, with the headers and the SLP exhaust, it probably gets THE SAME fuel economy.:wow:

Let's play your game, though by pretending that there's a relationship between sales and how "good" a car is. By that measure, Acura downright SUCKS:

So is MY car. I have a brand new '04 TL. It has no rattles, no vibrations, nothing. It's perrrrfect.

Oh, and one more thing. I GLADLY spent the extra money (versus an Accord) because I can! And I enjoyed doing so!

You can talk and talk and talk all you want (and boy, can you talk) but you don't fool me one bit - you're green with envy. When I drive by you in my MUCH NICER AND PLUSHER AND MORE EXPENSIVE car, I laugh at your Accord! Your cheaper, plainer, boring old Accord!

Say ANYTHING you like, but I go to bed tonight knowing you SECRETLY can't stand those of us who own a TL - because we own a COOLER car than you!

You're envious, and you're trying to convince yourself and everyone else otherwise. Why else would you be here night and day?

Go ahead, have the last word, I won't be reading it. I'll be sleeping soundly while you furiously type your lame, irrelevant, unimportant reply.

Ahhh, I sleep well...resting up to take my beautiful TL out for a nice Sunday drive tomorrow...gnash your envious teeth, bitch.

Ever read "THE MILLIONAIRE NEXT DOOR?"

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...245586-8486453

NEWFLASH: Most people who can REALLY "Afford" to blow money on expensive cars DON'T! Camrys and Buicks top the list of vehicles owned and driven by millionaires in the US.

Translation: Judging people's net worth by what they drive is STUPID.

Plus...I have my EX/V6 Accord...

AND I have this.

I was under the impression that the age demographic for this car was somewhere over 7 years old?

I must have been mistaken. Time to move on to another thread: no intelligent life here.

I'm glad that you're happy with your choice, I really am. An Accord V6 is a nice ride. At the same time, I'm curious. Having rejected the TL and bought (leased) an Accord, why did you take up residence in a TL forum? I'm not trying to kick you out or anything, you have as much right to membership in this forum as I do. But wouldn't you have far more common ground with actual Accord owners in an actual Accord forum? You could probably get a lot more sheep to jump on that "TLs are a ripoff, the smart consumer buys an Accord V6" bandwagon with you.

Quote:

[Unsolicited, bandwitdth consuming, multiple pictures of a Camaro in a TL forum snipped]
Nice car. Honestly. No sarcasm intended or implied. Although I don't know the age of thos pics (and I couldn't care less about your MPG), it's obvious that you enjoy it and take care of it with pride. I respect that. But again, wouldn't you have a lot more luck getting members to rally around your preference to Camaros in an actual Camaro forum? Wouldn't those people enjoy your pics so much more?

You have over a thousand posts here in a month or so. Quick math works that work out to something on the order of 25-30 posts a day in this forum alone, most of them negatively oriented, trolls, or snipes. nearly every one of them has been edited afterwards. Do you actualy have time to post to that extent here and still surf and post in other forums as well? Don't your own choices and behaviors appear just a the slightest bit odd to you?

Maybe having people agree with you is boring. Maybe generating arguements and feuds and getting negative attention is far more gratifying to you. Kind of like a troll. Ya think?

Tl has ratteled like a baby rattler since they started being built in Ohio in 1999. No issues like these from the 1st gen. But the 1st gen is not nearly as fast or has the features of the TL. Tradeoff.

1.) Does the radio really respond to voice commands?

2.) Can the dealer address the rattle issue..they are really annoying...rattle in the rear passenger door area and also the dash/glovebox area.

My 2000 honda accord does not and never had any rattles, so the rattles in the TL are very annoying!!!

Audio, navi, climate control all respond to voice command on navi equipped cars. HFL responds to voice command whether or not the car has navi.

Pretty impressive stable ya got there harddrivin1- an Accord and a Camaro. Normally wouldn't bust chops but ya deserve it. Bet ya wish you had a Buick or Camry so well read people would think you had bucks.I don't know about that statement that most millionaires drive a Buick or Camry-sounds like a self serving skewed statistic used by some guy to help sell his book. People who have money and don't treat themselves good only have themselves to blame.
