10mm or 11mm bleeder valve size

I have looked and looked and cannot find a straight answer. If there has been one I am sorry for this post. The manual states the bleeder screw is 11mm but thats for manual cars, are the automatics the same or are they the 10mm like some have suggested?

Also, the correct hose size to put on the bleeder valve thats nice and tight but still fits, 1/4 inch dia or 1/8 dia. or something else?

Thanks for the help, this is the last thing I need to do to complete my brake job.

We aren't trying to be smart asses. You asked a question, got answers. Something so simple could be taken care of by yourself with a simple trip to buy an adjustable wrench and git-r-did!

"Put a wrench on it and find out" is not an answer" I understand I could have figured it out, but that's the point of a forum to ask a question to see if someone had the answer before I went and tried to "figure it out" If you dont know the answer then dont respond.

Forums are for questions to ask when you are stumped... Did you ever go out and try something before you took the time to write your question? I am sure it took longer to write the question than it would to go look for yourself. Something so simple shouldn't need a thread about it.

For example:
How do you open a box of cereal? Some people say you slip a finger under the flap and slide it to the side but you may get a paper cut. If you don't want a paper cut rip it in half. I don't know what to do!?!?

FFS, some people are so damn lazy these days!

oh snap, look what i searched for, very first post Page 19-18 has bleeder screw called out as 10mm.....

https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-041-a-578017/

im being helpful even though you are being rude dude...like they said you are gonna buy a 10 mm wrench, it will most likely have a 11mm on the other side.

seriously, it only takes a few minutes to figure this out. Its not like its a bolt inside the cylinder head that you can't get to until your whole car is apart... Sorry if you are a softy and can't take forum banter, but come on. If you can't figure this out you shouldn't be doing a brake change. Id leave it up to the profeshinals!

OP just buy a set of wrenches. You are going to need them anyway.

Test fit the 11mm and 10mm and see which one fits.

Hose doesn't matter as long as it fits over it (1/4 should be fine) or just purchase an oil bleeder kit.

OP, if you don't have a 11mm and ESPECIALLY a 10mm, you have NO business working on your car, the 10mm wrench is the master key on all Honda cars.

Spoonfeeding answers is definitely not something the more veteran members of this site like doing in cases like these where a quick search, or like everyone mentioned, running out there and just putting a wrench on there, or even better, having both on hand would solve.

You're old enough to have some common sense, utilize it.

The assumption is that I didnt use google or search acurazine to find the answers. I have been a member of this site for awhile and have seen people get flamed for not googling things so I know all about that. I did google it and search here on acurazine and could not find the SURE answer. This may be my first post ever, getting flamed for asking a question that was supposedly so easy to find. I saw that someone posted earlier that it was right in a certain post, well if I had found that post I wouldnt have asked. I do not appreciate being called lazy and/or lacking common sense both of which are not true. I could have purchased the wrenches and gone out and checked, but its the work week and I figured, "why not ask and check to see", wont do that again! There are a lot of assumptions going on and excuse me if like I said in my post I couldnt find something and even apologized for if it was covered and I didnt know.

Let a mod close or delete this as to not clog up the site with pointless posts.

It's okay OP, it's the Internet, Here you go, I'll be helpful:

The reason why Service manual specifically says M/T are 11mm is because they use the Brembo 4 piston calipers (same as Type S). The A/T Base TL's will have a regular 2 piston caliper and per the manual, have a 10mm bleeder screw (highlighted above)

I think the confusion is people mainly refer to this page of the SM:

probably would have been easier to catch a ride to the autoparts store to fetch a wrench that had 2 sizes on it. preferably the 10 and 11mm that you needed.

but what do I know.
