how about an 08 TLS with a CAI, Jpipe, and 3rd muffler delete, and light weight pullies vs the g37. That would be somewhat of a closer match.

i raced the g35 sedan and coupe and beat them both. sedan was closer than the coupe. when i raced the coupe i ran on him in 3rd gear. it was from a roll too which sucks cause fwd and little low end torque

I have an 08 g35x, and it is faster than my 6spd base TL. I have raced my own car with my cuz driving. The type-s isnt much faster than the base iirc.

From a launch and from a roll the g35 is faster. I drove the 09 coupe with I-awd and it felt good, but I'm guessing it'll rape the TL

TL had 10 more HP but the G35 was a tad quicker. Except in the 0-100mph run where the TL edged it out 17.3 versus 17.9

RWD, bigger motor with more torque, close ration transmission. The G will win that race anytime, unless an idiot is driving it. I use to b*itch and moan at the Acura rep all the time about this when he would come to the shop. I'd tell him to suggest different things. Acura needs more horsepower if they are going to compete with infiniti. Though just once, I'd like to see that supercharged TL-s on here race and stomp all over a G : )

I've beaten a bone stock G35 Sedan against my bone stock TL, beat him by 1 car length.

Secondly, whats the point in arguing the sake of who wins or not. If a turbo comes out on our cars and achieves 325+ WHP than we will have a argument!

Anyways, why do people care about there 1/4 mile or 0-60 times or how many horses or torque a car has when 99% of the time, the person behind the wheel doesn't know how to drive. Know I'm not talking about how to drive stick and gear perfectly or just to press on the gas to beat the other person. I'm talking about learning actually how to drive in everyday lives. Learn how to avoid accidents, learn how to understand traffic (instead of just cutting lanes so you "think" you're going to be in front), and other things. I swear more people are getting ignorant in driving. Learn how to drive perfectly, than talk about racing. They're probably few of you on these forums that actually know how to take of your cars, by driving, and by hand. Defensive Driving is essential. Racing is only for track unless we're talking about real racing where they're making in Texas soon. Just like in fast and furious. There will be real stop signs, real stop lights, real "traffic". Point A to B who wins with traffic and understanding of traffic. Any accidents or illegal turns/passing red lights will deduct points. You don't need a 10 second car for this just a knowledged driver. Just like people say, guns don't kill people, dumbass people kill people. That goes for this.

If an 03 can embarass a base TL like that.. the TYPE S is only slightly faster than a Base.. so the outcome will be similar just a little less pronounced.. but still an embarassement nonetheless. This video is precisely what I stated before and exactly what happened when I raced my friends 05 G35. I hung up until 75mph - 80mph and then was shitted on. And the power of the G35 only got higher as the years progressed.

Now if you find a G35 hooked up with 20's and you only have 17's.. I can almost guarantee you'll keep up or maybe even win. Or racing in traffic.. well.. that retarded and don't condone AND not anything I go by to give merit to any car.

I dont know if it would dust the TL ... the ES350 is neck and neck with, the base TL being slightly faster, and I would suspect the Type S to easily edge out in a victory on this race. I'm willing to bet money on these results.

Actually i raced my freinds lexus ES350, and it sounds like a camry, with a electric sound motor, and i beat him by 1 car length. But i love the leather, and the ride is so soft, compared to the TL. But other then that my TL also out handled it too. And the speakers in the lexus suck.

OK I dont know why people think a TL is faster than a G. Sure you may have some luck on the streets against one. If your a 6mt, you could be racing against an auto. If your a 6mt and racing a 6mt, the other guy may not be a good driver - wrong gear, bad shifting, etc. a 2003 6mt G sedan runs a 14.30ish 1/4mile. A 6MT base tl runs about a 14.4-14.5, so its slower. A 6mt tl-s will run a 14.1-14.3, so its SLIGHTLY faster. A 2007 G with the updated 298 hp motor runs a high 13, something that I have not seen from any stock 6mt TL. The next model G only gets faster.

Yes the TL is sexier, Yes the TL has a better interior, Yes the TL is more fuel efficient and Yes the TL is more reliable. IMO they are two different cars with different purposes, the G being more sports luxury than the TL sadly.

Bottom line, anyone who says their TL is faster than a G's doesnt know what they're talking about and thinks that one isolated incident speaks for the entire model line.

Honestly, and no offense, but it was a useless thread to begin with. All you had to do was google acceleration times for the g37 and would see that those times are standard for that car. Did you expect anything else from a car that has over 30 hp more, shorter gear ratios and rwd over the tl-s?

having both cars in the household I'll let you know that our cars don't stand a change to the G37's. Maybe a heavily modded TL-S or a supercharged base yes. Stock type-s will get burned with ease.

vs 350z 6MT (buddies) with exhaust & intake..... i barely beat him.... we both had heavy ass 20" wheels on ....

vs g35 5AT Sedan, exhaust (earlier 03-05ish).... dogged him

vs g35 5AT Coupe, exhaust (all i heard) ... i barely beat him

vs g35 5AT Coupe Stock, i beat him good.. we even chatted at the next light

vs g35 6MT Coupe, exhaust + maybe more.... got me

vs g37s 5AT coupe... close... very close... but got me once i entered 3rd

vs g37s 6MT coupe.... Raped me like Kobe

vs 06+ Maxima 6MT Exhaust, intake... dogged him

vs 06+ Stock IS350... I WON I WON I WON !!! I was sooo proud of my UA7 !!!!! (i know its not a VQ engine, but its a fast car)
