Is the 09 g37s sedan faster than an 08 TLS
I was reading this article:
http://forums.motortrend.com/70/7060...nds/index.html
I always thought the g37 sedan was about the same speed as the TLS. This article is claiming it's 0-60 in 5 seconds.
http://forums.motortrend.com/70/7060...nds/index.html
Not surprising, the acceleration times for the brawnier G37 S are markedly improved over the less-powerful, five-speed G35 S. Zero to 60 now takes only 5.0 sec, with the quarter-mile obliterated in just 13.5 at 105.3 mph. Compared with numbers from our long-term G35 S -- 5.3 and 13.9 at 99.9, respectively -- it's evident the additional 22 hp and two cogs make an appreciable difference. Further, the new powertrain pays dividends at the pump as well, thanks to EPA numbers (18 city/26 hwy) that are up one mpg for city and two for highway."

um why.......pretty sure they all have the same engine and same output. S just means sport package and a 6mt option I believe.

We got the type-s for the overall handling, perf., amenities & reliab. not just pure speed alone .... there are other cars (cheaper than TLs dare I say ?) out there if speed is what you are looking for ....

Umm.. please dont tell me you think the TLS is a night and day difference from a base TL in speed do you? I've done this race to about 80mph and lost with my car's nose being at the rear door. This was a race between Auto to Auto. I would expect same results between a 6MT to 6MT. That in no way puts it in the runnings with a G.
Btw I have a Base 06.

Also the AT and MT tranny's are two diffrent animals.

I've driven both the base 6mt and type-s mt and its not THAT big of a difference. Given that bit of difference makes it MORE comparable to a G, I wouldnt say that you can only compare a type-s to a G and not a base model.

Motortrend achieved a 0-60 of 5.7 seconds for the 2004 6MT (quarter mile of 14.25 @ 97.81 mph) and 6.0 seconds for the 5AT: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html
The 1st gen G actually had different hp from year to year and depending if it was a coupe or sedan. The 2003 sedan had 260 hp. The coupe had as low as 280 and as high as 298 depending on the year. Source

No, u cant even compare the TL to the G. I never driven a base TL so I cant say. But if u ask me, yes I am saying 28 hp is a night and day diffrence. Diffrence in power? yes, handling?yes, basicly a sportier TL. Also its a drivers race if were talkin about MT. Im saying a TLS is worth running a G if both we're stock from a roll not a dig. Now with bolt-ons, the base can eat a type-s with a blower obviously.
Also the AT and MT tranny's are two diffrent animals.

HP's aren't the only numbers to consider in this game.. a RWD will shit on a TL. 0-60mph times are retarded, because I already stated in my post.. you'll hang with the G till about 75 and then you will be embarassed and feel like a 5 year old. If you don't believe me try it. I will even bet that a AT G35 will beat a 6MT Type S.
I've done many races to 100mph with my friends so I can speak from experience.
1. 350Z
2. G35
3. G37
4. Maxima
5. IS350, IS250
I can keep going... so I know where we stand and who and who not to pick races with.

Anything that is not a TYPE S is considered a base. In the 04-06 lineup they had a ASPEC version and a 6 SPEED version that basically was the sport version in those years. It had everything the TYPE S has now minus the extra engine displacement, exhaust, and HP.
