have an 08 tl,timing belt failed so it bent valves,so I parked the car for a while, went to go move it one day, it stalled out and wouldn't crank back up,I eventually found a type s engine for a good price and swaped it In using the cars original wiring harness, now the car still won't run,I have spark and fuel to the rails,so fuel pump works and all coils are firing,if you dump gas Into the throttle body it cranks and runs like a champ for a few seconds,so my injectors aren't firing as far as I can tell,no fuel sprays into the cinders at all, plugs stay dry,it runs long enough to spit out codes p2229 and p0563,waht could be my issue, thanks in advance Edit
I have checked all fuses and ground, not sure how check and see if the computer is communicating, that is a worry of mine,is it likely that the computer has failed, I did use a relay tester and found relay number 25 under the dash (pgm fi main relay 2)has a possible short on pin 85 on the tester, can find a diagram on that system though
Just to confirm, is the security key light turning off?
You can use a basic OBD-II code reader to check if the PCM is even able to communicate. Just keep in mind that OBD-II readers must have a battery voltage at the plug that it uses to power up the tool.
There are different ways to test for the PCM injector pulse:
Using a test light check if the PCM is grounding the injector when you crank. The light will flicker. Caution: be careful you don't use a test light that draws too much current because it could burn that driver.
Using a scope you can check the injector pulse waveform. You can also check current draw if you have a current probe.
Using a bi-directional scanner to command individual injectors and check if it's sending injector pulse with a multimeter.
Using a bi-directional scanner to pulse injectors and check fuel pressure drop.
