I think it looks pretty good!

It took more then melting a few notches in the housing... Those switchback bulbs are just HUGE...

I'll post pics in a few days...

thanks rodneyc77, i haven't done the system yet. that will be next after i get my wheels and suspension done. i gonna do a full custom set-up like in my other TL. might do the same style since i didn't get a long enough chance to enjoy it. i really liked the sound it had.

you gotta post some pics of those switchbacks in there, those are crazy bulbs!

Rego Sport Glendale 810 E. Colorado Bl. 91205 (818) 547-3337

price was $250 took about 4 hrs

if i wasnt so scared to cook my headlights i waould have saved myself the $$$ and done them myself. but if you've never done something like this it might be worth it for you, not risking f-ing up your expensive headlights.

ouch, pretty steep. i hope that included them taking out and reinstalling your headlights for you. at that price i think i'm inclined to just do it myself. i guess i'll just have to set aside a day. thanks for the info though, appreciate it.

There are slim fit ones coming out now, but will they be brighter? The ones that are fat are made that way so they can fit 18+ LEDs. Kennedy has found a nice one made by V-LEDS that seems to give some hope. I'd get them but I'm in the switchback club. Someone buy the V-LEDs!

Gosh I'm jealous. I love Maya RT5's so much, but they're so damn hard to find these days after they stopped making them. I was under the impression they do not clear brembos, but I may be wrong. After seeing them in person I fell in love.

btw nice lights. Your thread reminds me that I need to clear out my sides as well.

i'll post some more pics of them on at night they match the hids very well, i'm happy with them. let me know what you think.
how much did it cost for you to black out the headlights? was the process like a couple of hours?

I just bought some LEDs that look like they'll fit (H120xW85xD20mm stated on the package) and they have two resistors and a diode within the bulb. I bought them at autobacsusa.com in Stanton, CA for $27 each. The Ohinata 7443/T20 LED Orange 21/5W Bulb is made in Japan and I can't read any of the characters on the package.

Before I install them, do any of you know of switchback LEDs that fit without mods and blink at normal rates for a base '07-'08 (w/7443 turn signal bulbs)? Thanks!

to make them blink at normal rates you'll have to install the resistors. it's fairly easy.

Thanks for the v-leds 7443 link! I didn't really want to mess w/the electrical system (i.e. the load resistors and grounding wire) but white running lights are too tempting. Especially considering my bumper is off, the lights are being cleared/blacked-out. That and I'm not sure if the internal resistors in the Ohinata OH-117 bulbs will make them blink at a normal speed. I'll put the hazards on and roll down my limo-tint windows if I get pulled over.

I had JnC black-out my lights and he did a great job:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/custom-headlights-jnc-641022/
If you do the trade-in program shipping time shouldn't be a factor. I mailed my lights to him directly and he did quick, quality work and sent them back after payment was received. I had to park the car in the garage for around two weeks to account for the shipping time. There was quite a bit of work removing/reinstalling the bumper and adding the load resistors to the turn-signal wiring. I'd recommend a good/compact 10mm socket and a flexible attachment (steel cable extender and/or pivoting joint extender). T-claps or soldering the load resistors worked better than the square blue splitters that Vleds sends with the resistors.

Here are some pic’s of blacked-out ver 1 with Vled switchbacks (6 ohm resistor on each side keeps the blink speed normal) on a base WDP ’08 TL.
