However, to davejsbx - people wouldn't pay $50K for this car? Well, based on the current exchange rate of the CDN dollar to the US dollar, and factor in that we have 14% taxes up here... it's safe to say that I paid about $50K USD for my car. Sad. But true... sigh.
Based a thread a few weeks back, you wouldn't believe how much TL costs in China ....

Lucky to be here in the good ol USA ....

I think the OP was confused by the "braking assist" function. This is nothing special, its pretty much there on ANY car. If you've ever driven a manual transmission vehicle before, you'll notice that when you're in a lower gear at a higher speed, the engine will slow the car down. And you guessed it, its called engine braking.

Auto transmissions are annoying.... just buy a manual, it makes everything so much more satisfying.

and to defend ttribe I think we've all heard enough to be honest. Im sure people from Acura read these forums...BUT its not like we need to have threads every other day with a laundry list of things you would change....

If you have issues with the car I say post them in Problems and Fixes. Some of us have been here long enough to read just about every damn problem that people have with this car.

So yes, I can see how some people read his first post and wonder wtf? I sure did...

3G is not here to provide a shoulder for you to cry on. We are here so you can learn about your car....

I almost agree with you but....I know that for the money I spent I have the vehicle that "most" people at work would like....and I'm talking ppl with Audis and more expensive vehicles....but to each their own...I almost bought a Toyota FJ instead of my other vehicle a Jeep Rubicon and I'm glad I didn't......
My thoughts amigo is do the research before you buy a vehicle you will have for at least the term of your loan or lease, but seriously if you "almost" could have been able to afford a "nicer" vehicle you would have not posted this topic....

When writing this I knew that I would most likely get dissed by a lot of people who love the car for what it is. And I do love the car for what it is. Yes, I did test drive it and yes I did ask questions and read many posts on this forum before I signed on the line. But look at the list I compiled ... I was well aware of the noisey rear-end and the TSB that is out for it and I said that I've not had the work done yet .. but the noise is still annoying. The transmission braking isn't something you notice much during a test drive, but is something that you come to realize as you drive it daily. And please, I doubt many of you knew about the 3 separate phone books on this car until you started pairing phones with it and using the systems AFTER buying it. Squeaks and rattles, well, the car was tight upon delivery and lets face it, my dealer only lets a demo vehicle out for test drives (they figure they are all the same), so I actually did not drive 'mine' until the day of delivery. Acura isn't well known for the squeaks/rattles free vehicles, in fact, they have gotten progressively worse in the 5 new vehicles I've had of theirs - and let's also face it, their quality ratings have gone down considerably (even buick has surpassed them).

The car is what it is .. a beautiful head turner than has the potential to spin some tires and handle well. if Acura wants to run with the big dogs, they need to think out the small details more than they are. Those small things are simply what I was trying to point out .. nothing more.

Well thank you for pointing them out. Just realize that you're not the first and definitely not the last..

The only thing I ask is dont use this site as a way to vent your frustrations about your purchase.

That is not why we are here...

If you have issues you want to try to fix or you have any questions then we are here to help...

I'm confused as to why people are dogging DivinDude. I think this is an excellent thread. It was well phrased, organized and inclusive (everything in one place). Listen, this is an Acura Enthusiasts website. People are going to critisize EVERY LITTLE point of the vehicle, good or bad. If all you want to hear is about how generally good or how generally bad your cars is, then get a membership in Consumer reports and listen to the "normal" driver's experience. Don't be suprised about the praises or faults of your vehicle when coming to this site. I mean the guy thinks the car is amazing. He's not calling the car a POS, he's just pointing out the faults of this particular vehicle. We all know that all cars have their faults, and he essentially stated them in a nice readable fashion.

IMO I think its counter productive. This is an information based forum. FULL of anything and everything you could ever know about the TL. I think if you want to share your thoughts on EVERY LITTLE point of the vehicle then take it to consumer reports and tell them

thats just my opinion.

I agree that it is not "good reading" to view someone else's pent-up frustrations on the TL, tho the many posts with responses dictate otherwise. Hell, something is wrong with anything mass-produced at some point in time. I love the car and I come here to mingle with the rest of the folk who want to either upgrade/mod, get informed, or just plain hang out with other TL owners.

Complaints should go to Acura or Consumer Reports, or any other entity designed to deal with them. No room for clutter here in that regard. Just love baby!

I agree with this for the most part.

I also tend to agree with the OP's overall theme.

The bottom line is, the TL is one of the nicest, best equipped cars on the road at the 30-40k price point. Things get sacrificed to hit that price point. As a new owner, the OP is finding that out.

I actually think it is a good thing to see well written critiques like this. Simply because I know people from Acura DO read these forums. Forums like this one and the couple others I participate on are one of the most effective ways a manufacturer can find out what their target group of customers is thinking.

If the forum is filled with "OMG I gots a mad tyte TL wit tints", Thats as equally useless as "This thing sucks"

Given the active age group here, guess which one I see more of?

For those of you getting butthurt; you need more important things to get worked up over.
