07 - 08 switchblade key cut n programed?
I just got the 07-08 switchblade key for my 04 tl & was wondering how much did everyone pay to get it cut & programmed. I called my local dealership and they wanted around $150 for the cut & program which seemed a bit steep. If anyone got a place in ny that does it for cheaper please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Quick question, why do you need this? I have the 08TLS, and I don't see anything special about this keyfob, it's huge....though the release button is addicting....but I still don't like the fact that I have to manually push the key back in. My 2cents of course....

Well, is it the machined one? Cuz Last year there was a guy on here that charged to get the key machined so that it would actually fit, THEN and only then can you get it cut, so that it fits in your car, and you also have to get the Chip programmed so your car will actually start. In the end it cost me like 200 per key.

If it is a key from FLBusa you are in good shape. Does it look like the normal keys that came with the car? If so a locksmith should charge a couple dollar to cut the key. It is important that you go to a good locksmith so they dont wreck your expensive new key. The programing of the chip/key varies widely. The dealership I go to was $40 but I have seen much more than that. You also need to take all of your keys to the dealer when they program the keys, otherwise the ones that you didnt bring will no longer work. Oh and you can only have 5 keys programs to work with the car. If you're lucky you can find a great locksmith who will be able to program the keys for less, but those locksmiths with those programs a very few and far between. Good luck.
You can program the remote yourself. That is different than programing the chip in the key.

like everyone said above, make sure the key is milled/machined to look like your other keys. if so, then you good to go. make sure to bring all you keys with you for programming. the cost is $60 at atlas. had mine cut & programmed by him after i bought my key from FLBUSA.

But Atlas in the Bronx will cut and program them if you can get one milled.

Atlas is the way to go. $60 in and out in under 10 minutes. Of course I went early in the morning so it was quick. there's no parking there, so if you go early, he'll just do it quick in front of the store.

If your key doesn't look like the picture in this link you're in trouble.

didn't pay a cent for either. cuting was done for me for free by a friend in a honda dealership, programming isn't necessary sicne i removed the old chip from the 05 key and placed it in the switchblade key.

Just ordered one from flbusa and my local Acura dealer stated they are well aware of people wanting the new keys and if you order a good one online that's ready to go (already modified like flbusa's) they said $45 to cut and program it for me. Hopefully the key will arrive in a few days which will be nice since the only key I currently have is the spare set...
