06 TL Fogs (HID/Halogens) ?

Anyone have HIDs in their foglight location? Trying to figure out if I should go this route. I had Polarg yellows in there but for the last 2 years. I would blow one out each year . At $60 a set is getting stupid . Thinking of slapping yellow HID instead. What ya guys think? Anyone have it setup with HID can share pics? Worry it may be too bright or possible fogging if I have to drill holes through the engine bay light cover to run the ballast wires.

Hey man, yes a few on the forum have run HIDs in the '04-06 headlight integrated fogs, myself included ... and I love them. I have pics in some of my previously created threads (you can click on my name to the left and look those up). As far as your comment about the headlights possibly fogging up from DRILLING HOLES??!!! , thats not so. You should be purchasing a 9006 HID retro kit which have their own ballasts and 9006 based HID bulbs. No drilling required. Plug and play. I recommend a 55w kit from retro-solutions.com Ive been running them for nearly a year now and they are excellent. Ive referred them to many many friends and they all love them. Quality is top nitch (and no i dont have any inside connection). They are just that good! And dont even get me started about most ebay kits. :P Steer clear of those!

Good luck!

Thanks I'll look them up. As for drilling a hole through the cap. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't our fog light have a screw type cover that needs to come out to get to the bulb and wiring? The ballast not gonna fit inside the headlight assembly so it has be be on the outside thus the need to pop a hole through cover to snake the wire to bulb no? I forgot how the setup is. Have to look under the hood again.

you are thinking of the cap that covers the factory low/high beam BiXenon Projector D2S HID bulbs and ignitor wires which lead to ballasts. The fog light bulbs don't have a color because they are normal 9006 halogen bulbs and they simply unclip externally. Youll need to either mount your HID kit's ballast's in the engine bay or under the bumper. Yeah, looks like u need a refresher
