06' tl 258 hp

The 06' tl will have 258 hp and 233 torque. Ijust read it on Acura news website. I believe they are doing this due to the handeling and the steering of the car.Is this true?

the 258 comes from the new way they are rating HP not due to the handling

What is the new way they are rating hp, and what is this mean the car has 270 hp or truly 258 hp.

Why would the handling cause what was to you a decrease in power?

NFL..... I'd like to know why the automatic has 60 less HP than the manual. I believe that manuals can be driven harder than automatics, sure.... but a ton less HP?

AT almost always puts down less at the wheels because of something called torque converter.

and I think AT puts down 210~ and MT around 220~.

If anything, AT gets driven "harder" cuz people can just floor the gas pedal.

I don't really mind the new ratings, as long as my friends 93 saab 9kaero goes down to0, gotta stay on top of that(although it has always made more torque). I have never heard of a car company detuning an engine because they think it makes the car to hard to control, and if they did, the TL is not too hard to control. At one time car engines were detuned for emissions reasons, but that was 20-30 years ago.

Lighten up...he was just messing around...and being called a noob isn't really an insult...it's a description of a state of being...even the most experienced car person is a noob if they just join the site.
