So I was on road yesterday and I pulled up to a stoplight. (This is on one of the rural highways with stoplights in between long stretches of road). The light turns green and I slowly accelerate then I look in my rearview mirror and I see a red Ford Lightning. So I floor it then he floors it and we go from about 30 to 120 and we are pretty much dead even. Then I had to slow down because of traffic. He passes me and I catch back up to him and pull alongside him and we go for another run this time from about 50 to 120 and we are side by side. It was probably the closest race I have ever had against anyone. I then pull alongside him and give him a thumbs up and he gives me a thumbs up back. I believe he had an aftermarket exhaust and I could definitley hear the supercharger but I dont think he had anything else done to it.

 

Are those them F-150 SVT Lightning trucks? Badass trucks. JW, are you modded?

 

Yes, those are the only Ford Lightnings I know of and they are all SVTs=supercharged. Those trucks run in the 13's i believe.

 

Just checkin...i'm not familiar with all the ford models that ever came out.

From a dig he would have the advantage. His aerodynamics are not very good for high speed runs plus the TL is great from a roll. He probobly was stock.

Pick ups are bulky looking, but they don't weight as much as you might think - 1/2 the truck is an empty bed.

 

Yeah he probably would have won if we had gone from a dead stop, and yes the TL is very quick from a roll. The only mods I have done to my car is an AEM cold air intake and a comptech exhaust. I also removed the spare tire and the carpet from my trunk.

I have got my ass handed to me by so many lightnings it is not even funny. Stock guys are running 13.1 on street tires.

my boy had an o1 ford lightning with an intake,catback bosani exhaust, and a diablo chip tune and ran a consistant 13.00 on street tires. (he was pissed he could never break into the 12's)
