05 tl vs 08 tl

hey guys,
I went to the dealer for the service on my 05 TL and got a loaner car, 08 TL 3,000 miles on it.

I don't know why but this car is so much different from mine!!! I am not saying the way its ext/interrior looks like.

the sound from the engine room is so smooth and quiet.
the ride is more BMW like, compare to my 05 TL.

did Acura put extra sound proof stuff around the engine room?

I now don't want to get back to my 05 TL..

Did you buy your TL new? It probably sounded and felt much like the loaner when it was new. Three years puts a fair bit of wear and tear on a car.

1. Its newer
2. It has less miles
3. It probably has more tread on the tires to avoid road noise
4. the suspension was softened for the 07+ base TL's
5. The fluids are brand new
6. Its new!

Thanks csmeance,

3. It probably has more tread on the tires to avoid road noise
4. the suspension was softened for the 07+ base TL's

that was what I wanted to know.

I can't deny a newer car sounds and feels better but I felt something different than that.

if the feeling was a warm sensation between your legs, then the loaner must have been set on 'For His Pleasure' mode. Optional on '08s. After 30 minutes of continuous driving, the seat starts a shiatsu-like massage on your sac to help you relax. Definitely worth the money. But it's built into the seat memory function so you have to make sure you grab your keys and not your wife's. Very uncomfortable.

Other than that, yeah, it's just newer

Don't forget the fact that your ear drums change when you step into a new car.

No I know exactly what e2tials is talking about they drive and sound totally different even when the car is started. The whole drive feels and sounds totally different I have an 04 and I had an 07 loaner feels like totally different car its not the tires or the fact that its newer Acura changed the vehicle around a lot more than we think the engine sounds and feels much different than 04,05 there's no vibration at 55mph like the 04,05 and the transmission shifts butter smooth.

I went from an 04 to an 08 and one of the things that make a difference in the ride is the definitely the type of tire. My 04 had the revised Bridgestones while the 08 has Michelins. There are also less rattles but I'll have to see how that holds up 3 years from now. Also as was already stated, the ride was softened a bit. There is an advantage in buying a vehicle that has been in production for 4 years - all of the previous year's "bugs" usually get worked out.

When searching for my TL I drove a 30k miles 2004 and it felt nice and I mean real nice.. But after getting in a new 08 and driving it I had to go with the 0 miles one.

Felt completely different..

I've test driven an 05 5at, and I distinctly remember the front suspension of the car being more easily upset by road imperfections. I now have an 08 base navi, and I really like the improvement in the ride, firm yet soaks up bumps better. They reduced the front spring rates like 7% for the 07-08's. For the non-racer crowd, it's a welcome improvement. The TL-S still carves up corners with better composure, but the 08tl is no slouch.
