Hello all, I am about to buy an acura tl this weekend. I have yet to see the car in person, but have seen pictures. I was puzzled at what I saw... a black roof on a white car. The seller explained to me that this is a "panoramic glass roof" that is an option on the 2005 models... needless to say I have never heard of, or come across this before on a tl. I have seen black vinyl wraps that can be applied to get this "panoramic" look, but the seller insists that this isnt the case, and the roof is all glass. Let me know what you guys think, as I am pretty skeptical.

You can even see the radio thing on the roof is also black. What, is that made out of glass too?

It even says in the ad sunroof, not panoramic sunroof, that would be a huge selling point if it were true

I don't think the seller knows what "panoramic" means... if that's the case I'd be very skeptical about the car you're about to buy from her.

other than that the care looks clean, however the fact the seller knows nothing about the car should be a red flag, but if you are really interested take it a to a good mechanic who knows Honda/Acura and have them do a thorough check

I Also call Bull SHIT. U can see the Lines in the picture where the sunroof and the roof meet. If it was a panoramic Roof there would be more light in the car as u can see there is a ton of light shinning on the car already. This light would be very visible thru the windows even with tints on. Be careful with buying this car cause if the seller is lieing about some BS Glass roof he could be lining about other things!!!

NO panaramic roofs on production TLs. I never even seen someone doing a aftermarket conversion on one. In the days of the 3GTLs it was a relatively new concept seen only on E-classes and 911s (Targa). Nowadays it's trickled down to mainstream cars.

Either the seller doesn't know what he is talking about or he is outright lying to you. Either way, it's not a good sign, stay away from that car. Who knows what else he is BSing you on. It might look good on the outside but you never know what you'll find out about down the road. There are PLENTY of used TLs out there that you can buy from legitimate and honest sellers, there's no need to settle.

Check out the car, could be clean. There's a good chance it was owned by an AZine member before 'Bianca'?

Could be painted vs vinyl wrap, but that whole 'panoramic glass roof' thing is funny. Maybe you can use that as a bargaining chip to lower the price even more when you get into the car and try to take advantage of the 'panoramic glass roof'.

Thanks for all the fast replies guys... hard to find a forum with good help anymore. I figured she was wrong, and I think she just doesnt know what she's talking about, I don't feel like she's outright lying to me about something this big. Im going to see the car this weekend, I'll let you know how "panoramic" the experience is.

I have a hack saw and can buy some glass at home depot and put it in for you..... I also guarantee that you WILL know when it is raining and possible mold and mildew issues.
