05 TL backseat leather has lots of wrinkles!
For all of you guys with 05 TL's, can you check your rear seats and look at

My passenger side rear seat edge is really wrinkled like the leather wasn't stretched correctly or there isn't enough coushion material to stretch the "leather" out correctly (see below):

Here is the rear passenger seat on the driver's side:

As you can see, there is a big difference between the fitment. And I have not had any rear passengers when I got the car. What I want to know is, is this a characteristic in all/most 05 TL's or do you think I have a beef to make with ACURA? I already took it into the dealer and the service manager was saying that it is just a "characteristic" of the leather and Acura won't do anything about it. Another service guy said that the seat was that way because when the car was made-ready, the tech pulled too hard on the plastic wrap that it lifted that portion of the seat up causing the loose-look of the seat/leather. This same guy said they fixed it was best as they could (whatever), but it still looks the same to me. So what do I do guys? Drop it or go around to a different dealer who will try to do something about it? Ayudame, por favor.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Sorry about the big pics, I forgot to reduce the size.

So, 05's back seat doesn't have "3 stitched sections", right?
Btw, my rear seat looks the same as yours... but mine is parchment... I feel it's ok...

The vinyl/leather material for the backseat appears to be different (cheaper-imagine that) from that of the front seats. I am sure they screwed up on this (I have the same looking back seats).
It is "characteristic" of this car!

I personally feel that this "characteristic" is a poor upholstery job. I guess if it is on all 05 TL's the dealer isn't gonna do squat unless they value customer satisfaction and business and what the luxury brand of Acura should represent before, during, and after the sale.
Seems like some dealers will go the extra mile for some customers and others won't. What a shame.

Take the service manager out to the showroom and look at another car. If that car looks like yours, then it's not an issue, but if the car in the showroom looks the way they're supposed to look....raise HELL!!!!

The 05 has the same rear seat as the 04. Mine doesn't look like that though, and I have never had any rear passengers in my car either. It's possble that the prep guys did sit in the back while prepping your car. You can make an issue out of it with the dealer and they may change the seats once. Try checking out some TL's in the dealer showroom to see if the back seats look like yours. You can be sure that there have been plenty of people getting in and out of a car on the showroom floor. If the ones in the showroom look better than yours then push them to change your rear seats.

I would try conditioning the leather and push the seat underneath the back part. See if that helps stretch it out. Judging from the pictures it looks like it's not positioned correctly. Just my honest idea. G'Luck!

Most TL I've seen has that same problems. It looks jacked up, but most are like that. I turned my car away cuz of that, but later I saw 6 other cars with that look.

In my 05 TL the front seats are 3 panels and the back seats 2 panels (where your butt sits on). I don't have any problems with the seat where your butt sits in, it's that side bolster(?). It's all wrinkly. IMO it should be smooth or at least as smooth as the driver's side rear passenger side bolster (like in the pic).
Seems like alot of you guys have this problem. I suppose it bothers me alot more than some. The first pic really shows it. Just terrible.

My back seat looks the same. It was like that when I picked it up from Acura. However, it doesn't bother me in the least. I never sit back there. I don't even notice them, when I put my laptop bag back there on the floor when I load up to go to and from work.

If you've ever completely reupholstered a car (from fabric to leather), you'll find it's a fact that there will be variations in fitment, no matter how meticulous and careful the installation. Weather also affects the appearance: more wrinkles in winter cold, and less in summer heat.

My look much better, but that because I picked it from about 5 cars when buying. I noticed that most back seats weren't tight and looked "bad". I think that workmanship is simply poor!! but I love my TL.....
