Yup, 75 - 80 is best for 3rd gear on the AT.

65 - 70 seems to be the best for 6MTs .. 75 / 80mph I'm at almost 5500 - 5750 rpm.

is the gearing exact same for accord 6-6 and tl 6speed?

I believe it is the exact same. The 5spd auto in the AV6 vs the TL 5AT and TL-S 5AT has different gearing for 4th and 5th gear. The accords gearing is shorter. 1st -3rd is the same.

04-06 tl has different tranny than 07-08 tl. type s and base are same for 07-08

i read that they have diff ratio gears....with the better performing tranny for the 07-08

You are right paperboy. TL and TL-S have slightly different gearing. I am still surpised as to why Honda didn't use the accord 5AT 4th and 5th gear ratios on the Acuras. 4th gear wouldn't be a dreaded gear anymore at full throttle.
