Sonnick, you need to do it asap. I did mine a year and a half ago. I don't think it made my car any quicker, but the gears do engage more firmly.

My baby is an auto and my dad has a g35 and my best friend the sedan....both autos. I ran the sedan before my intake, and he would walk on me from a dig, roll, but on the freeway we were back and forth due to rpm power range differences. I have longer gears than him therefore he starts ahead but then i start catching up. After my intake, for some reason my car pulled on him all over with out a problem. Perhaps his car was performing worse at this time because, as great as the AEM V2 is, it shouldn't have helped that much, but i beat him all over the board after that. I have also taken a couple of coupes on the freeway. I won't take off from 40 or 60 because there is no power there. If I'm in 2nd, I'm at 55. Im in 3rd, i start between 70 and 80. Ive yet to run my dads coupe but i have already taken some already. From a dig.....no thanks.....3rd gear and up....yes please. The 5spAuto gears will be much longer than the 6spM so shifting points and launching points will differ. Also, no car will perform exactly the same, some of us get strong ones and some not as strong. In no way am i correcting anything this thread starter said, Im just sharing my experiences.

As I downed to 3rd, the gears on the TL is so long!! When I'm on 6K RPM, the G35 already shifted into 4th. I was thinking of the same short gear, but I was on the G35's rear til I slowed down for cars.

2003 G35 RWD sedan 6spd - 14.4 quarter mile

I'm thinking of 14.6 - 14.8 for the TL since my nose was on the G35's rear the whole time.

I used to have a 2006 Civic SI with 230whp and did 13.8 @ 99mph with IPS K2 cams, full bolt-ons tuned on Flashpro so I track frequent.

3.2L vs 3.5L... seems like the TL-S would be an even match.

Just to enjoy the videos...

Getting TL-S cam installed, J-pipe, and CAI. Will see how far I walk the VQ motor.

??? What is this... some kind of joke? TL 5spd should be able to take out the 1st gen G35 6MT. They are pretty slow. Stock Mazdaspeed 3 pulls by about 3 bus lengths (full-size coach) on the VQ35DE G35 6MT.... If you can't beat that, TL needs a driver mod. That thing is slow....
