Your first problem was buying ricer 8000k bulbs. Second problem, running 55w bulbs with, I'm assuming, factory 35w ballast.

Are both headlights going out or just one? If it's just one it's probably not the fuse, it may be the igniter or ballast.

^^I agree with him!! If they flickered before they went out then it's not a fuse. If it was a fuse they would have just shut off suddenly without a flicker. Start with the ballast and go from there. Also with 8000K bulbs your light output isn't going to be as good as factory which is 4300K.

Does the bulb flicker upon ignition but not stay lit, or does nothing happen to it at all? If it flickers but doesn't stay on, there is probably a loose connection and you could try adding some dielectric grease to the connection.

ok here is what i suggest:

swap the bulbs side to side...if the problem moves with the bulb, bulb is the culprit....if it doesnt then you should start troubleshooting for ballast/igniters.....

it's most likely your bulb is your culprit like swoosh said, but if it isn't its probably your ballast like others have said. to eliminate this problem in the future have a relay harness for your hid kit.

He doesn't need a relay kit for his factory HID ballast.

If he's trying to run 55W bulbs from the factory 35W harness, he would need a relay

No, if he were running 55w bulbs, he should be running a 55w ballast then he would change his headlight fuse to a higher rating.

Edit: The only 55w bulb I would run are the Philip DL50 bulbs + 55w ballast. I ran these on my S2000 retrofit without any brunt chrome issues.

He should be you are correct but I doubt he was. From reading his first post looks like he just stuck the 55W bulb into the factory setup
