'05 or '06?? New computer worth it?!?

I just sold my 03 Accord V6 6-spd today...

But it's a good day too, since that means that I'm that much closer to an '05 or '06 TL, 6-spd, with NAV...

I'm not sure which year to go though... I read that the only difference besides the Tire Pressure Monitor, is that the '06 has a new computer (for manual transmission models only), and an active system to control torque steer.

1. Is this new computer and active system to control torque steer a true improvement? Can a significant difference in performance be seen?

2. Can this improvement be retro-fitted on the '05?

dont think so.. thats a good question.. might be something to do with the ECU, which you could probably buy an 06 and throw it into an 05.. but expect to pay a couple hundred for one. might as well go for the 06.

biggest difference is 06 to 07... 07's play MP3s/back up camera. to some people thats huge.. 130 songs per CD

The '07 would be great!! I've heard great things about the NAV and such, but it is out of my $26k price range... So, I'm stuck with either an '05 or '06. It's been tough finding an '06 with a NAV for $26k though...

Anyway to get an '07 NAV in an '05 or '06?

You could wait a few months for the '08 to come out. They're just around the corner so the '07 might be in your price range afterall.

I must be missing something, how complicated is it over just a rom upgrade and a flash?? Are there any hardware differences?

TPM computer upgrade?

Spirits are lifted with the black 05 TL 6sp that replaces the totaled white 99. Looking for more info on upgrading the computer via this thread as the 05 does not have the tire pressure monitor to go with my A-Spec wheels equipped with TPM.

Looking for answers. Thanks.

Wait a second, if $26K is your price limit how is an 07 out of range then? A while back I bought my 07 TL with nav for $24.6 with 27K miles.
I recently got rid of that and stepped up to a 07 TL Type S. It only had 20K miles and bought it for $27,000. If 26 is your limit you can easily find an 07 for that.

it is far better to purchase an aftermarket tpms kit rather than attempt to integrate the oem one...
