Last night on my way home from a boxing party I decided to open up the new TL to see what it could do. On 287 south in North Jersey at 02:30 am I got it up to 145mph. I felt like it could go faster but I didn't want to pass a cop so I slowed down. I'm not sure if the TL is drag limited of governed but it sure is fast.

 

Going that fast, how did you SEE the cop.You should `ve said I SAW the cop!!

 

You don't want to see the cop that fast. Been there, done that. thankfully I've never been caught at extreme speeds >100 since the costs of the infraction skyrocket, lawyer, bail etc.!!! Maybe twice in my life I've had the fuzz attempt to give me chase at that speed, both times they've failed ( by the time they take off I've been out of the freeway, long gone!!!!).

My CL-S hit 150 mph where it hit the govenor. It was a auto too.

 

I thought the Pre-2004 TLs had a limit of 137 MPH???

 

Coming off 287 North onto 78 I threw the car in Auto and did about 110. Took me awhile to get there as the automatic didn't shift me into a faster gear.

Next chance I get I'll throw the E-Shifter on and try to push her above 110.

Supposedly the limiter is set at 147 mph! But some guys have gone over 150 mph.

Fastest I've gone in my 99 TL was 147 mph. It felt like it could've kept going but I was running out of road really quick!

 

When was my last time to speed over my gauge? With my 94 Legend, I ran over 140+ with downhill highway.

Believe 04TL should be able to run faster in the same condition. Maybe that's how ppl have gone over 150 mph.

I got 120 in TN 3 weeks ago. Stable & smooth, TL still has plenty of power to go... Now back to the city, I find nowhere to drive over 75.

 

C/D clocked the 6spd at 152mph. They may have calculated it though.
