I know a person here claims to have topped out @ 156 with it. Now that I think of it he had a picture of the spedo at that MPH. Howerver Car & Driver claims a top out of 152. So it appears to be somewhere in that range.

It is electronically limited at 152. So is my '97 3.2 though I've only gotten mine to 145 on the track.

Please let me know where you can speed in NYC.

TO greenseed,

I guess that guy was running downhill with free wind, perhaps, his ECU cut the fuel already while his was still rolling down.

Re: 04 tl top speed

For Vtec at 4700 RPM, under the straight and plain conditions,

5AT 04TL,

2nd gear would be about 48-50 mph
3rd gear 74-77 mph
4th gear 113-118 mph
5th gear 157-164 mph if you remove the limit chip.

On 3rd Ave, you may make someone incontinence on his car if running over 100+, especially the section between the downtown and 100 St. And, tons of bump+potholes may make your TL fly farther than any triple jumper.

My 5AT has no problem to go 120 MPH so far, over I-40. I need to find better roads to go higher. It'd never be NYC.

it's an 03 TLs, curious to see if they have changed the gearing for the 04 tl (AT) .. the 01-03 TL's had a tall 4th..no go after 110mph till you hit like 125mph or so..

152 mph. This is the case for ALL TL's, 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation.
