04 TL oil leak
I noticed that there is some oil leaking out of these bolts. I am just wondering what they are called and what could be causing this to happen. Also every once in a while the car will over heat a bit and the coolant can be seen booking in the coolant reservoir tank. I had a faulty cap so I bought and installed a new tank. Does anyone have similar problems with over heating or the oil seeping out of these bolts?? What are the bolts called and what are they for? They are on the front of the engine just behind the coolant tank
thanks.

I wonder if they were just overfilled last time someone changed them.
I've also never seen coolant booking...not ever in the coolant tank nor the radiator.
Um, what's "booking?"

Those are your rocker arm cover bolts. It would appear that the rocker arm cover gasket is leaking. My 2003 TLS had the same issue, when i did a valve adjustment at 200K. For some reason, periodically, between 200K and current miles, 238K, these bolts seem to loosen slightly, or the seal "shrinks", and on my car, have required re- torquing at 9k to 15k miles, due to slight seepage. These bolts also have serviceable seals which become brittle, and tend to leak eventually. Be sure to torque these bolts properly, as they will break if over tightened.

The bolt tend to leaks and its an easy fix, however mine wasn't the case and you can see why. DIY isn't hard but its time consuming since you will have to disconnect few things to get the valve cover out, you can fix the valve cover gasket and the leak bolt for less than $30.
