'04 TL 6 spd / navi. pricing......

What kind of prices are you paying?
How long are you waiting to get this?

They are few and far between.

Thanks,

Pete

I put a deposit down on my 6MT in JULY and just got my car last week! Acura is only making 3% production of the 6MT- they deemed it limited production model. The navi wait is strictly a supplier delivery problem I believe. So if someone purchases a 6MT with Navi now I bet you would not get your car till April. The factory shuts down between 12/25 and 1/2/04.

No discount and I got luck

I went to the local dealer in the bay area to test drive with the friend. They had one 6mt/navi coming in couple of weeks. I paid the deposite and got a call from them saying it came early. I got it in 4 days after I put my deposite. I feel I got lucky since other dealers I talked to had given me date of late Jan early Feb, and which is consitent with the experience on this forum. I was told by all the dealers I visited and contacted through autobytel.com that this is a limited production and will have to wait and will have to pay MSRP. Bought it for MSRP and got free goodiest worth $500 though. Date bought 12/15.

It is called MSRP, at least in the SF Bay area.

I got mine for $200 off because I didn't want the HP Tires, so they didn't charge me for them. I also got a free Protection Pack (list $299 plus installation).

I'm paying MSRP as well. I did get them to throw on side moulding, protection packaging and wheel locks.

I had heard MSRP was common with stick/navi. combo.

My dealer took $550 off the MSRP on a TL 6 speed w/ Nav order. They also threw in the splash guards, wheel locks, and cargo tray for "free" but had a relatively high doc fee of $280. So, I figure that I netted out at about $400-450 under MSRP.

After getting to this point, I negotiated a tire swap to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for another $640 ($560 net for the tires + $80 mnt & bal).

This was the only dealer in the NC triangle area that was offering discounts on models with Nav.

Delivery is scheduled for Feb. Hope that helps.

That's what everyone said about the CL-S 6-Speed when it came out. The early adopters regretted paying MSRP when discounting became the norm about five months after the cars hit the dealers.

Well 5 months is a long time to wait, you could wait forever for the right car at the right price and never end up getting anything.:wow:

My car finally hit dealer today. Prepping , adding side moulding, wheel locks, prot. package and picking up Wed. 10AM. I can't wait.

I'm wondering what other charges they may want aside from tax/title/etc.......

Wow...ok...this is my first week of actualy shopping and I am getting pretty good discounts...The car's MSRP is 36,636. I got a price of 35,095.
That's initial without bargaining even (through an internet manager) the car is a 6speed with Navi and a bunch of other accessories.

If his VIN was #2, then wouldn't that make it like a collector's item or something?

I got mine off the lot in the begining of November , Antharsite/Ebony 6 speed Nav.
mud guards, wheel locks, ashtray, trunk mat chrome Acura wheels caps Vin 55?? . Price
34k. So I figured I got 1350.00 off. And it was on the lot. I have had no problems to speak of, except, slight rattle in dash board when moving from a stop. No "Flat Spotting" on the tires, clutch is flawless.
Have about 1500 miles on it now. Torque steer is only a problem if you hammer t gas around tight corners , other wise the car's handeling is excellent. I have only debaged and tinted the windows so far, want to get custon wheels but just not many available choices yet because of the Brebos. I am a very happy owner

that's not a bad discount. There is only one car in 4 states next to me that is my color and trim. At least that's what they're telling me.

I put a non refundable deposit of $1K down on 11/22 for a NBP 6SP with Nav. The dealer told me that they would have it between 12/15 and 1/31 or they would refund my $$. First week of Dec they called and said after unsuccessfully looking all over the Northeast for me, they have a build date of 1/14. I got $1395 off MSRP and they threw in the wheel locks and trunk liner. No BS - Dealer is Acura of Boston and my salesman is Joel.

Did you go to any dealers in the eastern Massachusetts area?
I'm from western Mass and there aren't any Acura dealers out here so I'm trying to find out about dealers in the eastern Mass area.

It's not a limited production car, they'll produce as many as people want to buy. Based on market research, they decided on a percentage of cars to be auto vs. 6-speed. If they got the percentage wrong, there could be a shortage for a period of time until they can get more 6-speed trannys sourced. And discounts vary greatly be state, so don't assume your experience in NY reflects the entire U.S. My dealer in WA has three 6-speeds (2 w/Navi, 1 w/o) on the lot and sold all their automatics.

I turned on PM and PMed you. He also set up a deal for me to trade my tires for Goodyear F1s, the new ones, my first choice, for $600.

Wellll, we were quoted $500 under MSRP (sorry, can't remember the actual dollar amount, but it's on the window sticker) for the lovely wife's lovely 6MT/Navi at a MD dealer. He thought it would take about 1 1/2 months (~early Feb) to deliver, and suggested we try closer to home (NY). Went to Heart Acura in Wappinger's Falls, where they matched the offer. Got us exactly the car she was looking for, and in less than a week! Then, they threw in the wheel locks and trunk tray. Not a bad rate, either (I believe it was just under 5.50%). In any case, I can't say a word about this car without adding, "DAMN, this is a great ride!"

There's a dealer in Latham, NY, but I hesitate to recommend them, based on ugly experiences when I took my Legend there a coupla years back. If you can deal with the run to Wappinger's Falls (about 2 hours from the Pittsfield area), check out Heart. [standard disclaimer applies: no affiliation beyond that of (so far) satisfied customer.]

Peace,

I originally started at Clair in Walpole, but they botched things up by not even placing my order for a month. I think they originally thought they would be able to find my car and missed the orignal allocation. I spoke with Inskip Acura in Warwick, RI (about 30 miles from me) but they wouldn't budge off MSRP. I know there is a dealer in Newport, RI, but closer for you would probably be Ron Bouchard in Auburn. West of Worcester - I can't help you. If you are looking for price and don't mind the drive, I would say Acura of Boston. They are a big dealer and move lots of cars. When I put my deposit down they had about 15 TLs on the lot.

Hope this helps,

Rob

It's called free enterprise. Dealer can set the doc fee to $1,000, if they want. They obviously found that they can dupe majority of their buyers into paying it. Good for them, bad for meek customers.

I was able to negotiate $1000 off of MSRP by just calling around to the internet sales staff listed on Acura.com. It's important to let them know you are an internet customer. Only 1 dealer in CA offered this deal. I couldn't get my Antracite but did manage to find 2 Silver/ebony's in stock within 1 week.

OK, it's in my driveway. $1300 off and they got me a $229 trade in on my junk tires for Goodyear F1 GS D3s.

finally

'04 6spd/navi/silver/black TL in the garage.

I paid MSRP, they threw in prot. pack, side moulding, wheel locks. I also got a reduced price on the ext. warranty. (doc. fee here $100)

So far this thing ROCKS. If you didn't get Navi. hope for a 'lemon' and replace what you bought for a TL w/navi.

partagas, please keep us posted on the F1's. How is the handling and ride? Also very important to me is noise.

Thanks in advance

My HPT's seem ok now, but I know they don't last long.

Well, they're remarkably quiet now, but they're new. S03s start out quiet. They don't seem to tramline and they seem to be as good as any in the rain. With the rain slippage, I'm having trouble getting used to the fwd.

It's funny, so far I want to drive my 330i but I want to be in the TL.

partagas, thanks for the feedback.
Let us know how you feel about the car and tires in a month or so. I am used to FWD and this car seems great if you don't abuse the power. IMHO as you get fimiliar with FWD, you will like it almost as much as your 330i. I will get a better feel for my TL tomorrow, as I am taking my TL with HPT to the mountains of NC to see how it handles the twistes up there.
