04 TL with 109k for $9900, good buy?
Hello all im new to the forum here cause im thinking of buying an Acura TL 2004-2006 and i have found a white 2004 Acura TL with 109k on it that has a clean carfax and only 1 owner that is being sold by a private party. My question is do you think that it would be wise to go look at TL with this many miles and if everything checks out go ahead and make the purchase? Ive only owned one Honda in my lifetime (a 1999 civic) and it was a great car and was wondering if the Acuras last just as long as the Hondas do. Also i wanted to ask you guys if there are any warning signs that i should look out for if i decide to go look at this TL that would tell me to stay away. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome
If it has been maintained it should be quite reliable. If you're serious about purchasing, take the car to a trusted mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. Make sure the timing belt has been replaced and the various fluids such as oil, coolant, transmission fluid have been changed over the years. Some people take excellent care of their vehicles.
Good luck!

The engine in our TL is nearly bulletproof. With proper maintenance, I'm sure the TL can last for 300,000 miles before any problem would arise (luck helps too). I'd tell him $9,000 and we got a deal. Bring it to the Acura dealership (if your local one is good), and do the pre-owned inspection. They charge 1 hour of labor which amounts to $125. Worth it for the peace of mind. Good luck! Hope to see you with a TL very soon.

Exactly what Ken said.

Just be careful as he/she has the following listed for sale:
2002 Chrysler Sebring
2001 Cgrysler Sebring
2001 Dodge Durango
2004 Hyundai Elantra
2003 Hyundai Elantra
Chances are they won't know if the timing belt has been changed so you had better add $1200 to the price. Check the CarFax for service, also check the Acura dealer for service using the VIN.

No, i havent e-mailed the seller as of yet as i am still unsure if i want to purchase this car yet. What leads you to believe that this guy is a scammer? I know that there are a lot of scammers on craigslist thats why im weary of buying anything on there at all but i figured id at least look.

I'm sure you can get a good discount on that high mileage. 1-2k miles off that price because of how many owners and mileage. And coming from the dealer you get a small peace of mind. Check it out. And it probably had the 105k mile service done.

looks like a pretty decent deal. i dont think the posting is a scam, but i do think the seller is a dealer -- thats why theres multiple listings. i purchased a tl similar to that one, around the same price range but it has navi. if you can get the car for $9k, pretty good deal imo. the seats looks a bit worn out though. i love this car...and im sure everyone on the forum do too
goodluck.
goodluck.

the price looks ok and doesnt looks like a scam. I bought a 04 TL with Navi for $8000 including the dealer fee last month. Because the navi didnt work at that time. I sent it back to alphine and cost me $158.
