"Thus, the 2004 Acura TL, which, according to the company's marketing manager, Dave Gardner, is meant to appeal to buyers in the mid-40s age group, as opposed to the 53-and-up buyers who purchased the previous generation of TL."

WHAT?? i am 53 and up? LOL .. most TL's i see/know are driven by much younger people 53 and up = RL

Actually, a lot of 53+ buyers are out there. Most of them find the RL too big and boring
Thats my Dad's opinion on the RL too, plus he said.. Why should I pay $45k when I can get a TL for $26k ?"

Ya, Almost all the TL's I see on the road are driven by Old Farts..

Enthusiasts are like 5-10% of the TL's Buyers, thats why the Auto will sell more than 6-Speed..

You got that right. It sickens me to see 90% of TL driven like snails. The power the TL has to be hobbling along at 40 is a shame.

Auto outsells manual on Corvettes and may also on 911's.

My new TL will be manual. No auto for me.

I'm an enthusiast but HAVE to buy an automatic because the wife has to able to drive the car in a pinch (e.g. if I have knee surgery again, which has actually happened). I'm sure as hell not buying $33k manual for my wife to tear up as I teach her!!!!

You guys are right, too, most TLs I see on the road are driven by older people. In fact, the only young people I know with TLs are on the various TL boards! (I'm 35, in case you're wondering.)

bbb, you're right too--I can't stand to see the TL driven like a snail when it has this rev-loving engine under the hood...
