04' maxima vs. 04' TL
#2
O.G.
The TL will win cause we have a higher top end (thanks to vtec) while the maxima have more torque down low.
BTW, I don't know the top speed of the maxima but I don't think it is faster than the TL.
Not only will we win but we will look 100x better doing it.
Oh, why a 5 mile race?

The Older Maxima is faster than current one and weighs less..
The New TL has More HP, and 6 Speed with LSD
The current TL-s is pretty close to performance to the old Maxima, and it is a close race on the 04 MAX

the new maxima is a lot heavier and it is actually slower than the -02-03 max's which were able to run the 1/4mile in i believe 14.6ish...
the new TL with grippier yokohamas (i believe thats what i read or the potenzas) and its 6spd , better gearing ratio will take the new max easily.... and if that 5mile stretch has curves, the TL will eat them up while the fugly max will fall behind

What the hell is a 5 mile race??? I hope the TL does not have 2 overdrive gears again, cause the 3.5 will own it. Up to 100mph, the TL will own the Maxima.
Both cars have similar acceleration, it's on the driver really.

This topic is beat to death so much(Vs Maxima,G35 etc.), 02-03 Max and TLS very similiar drivers race, 04 Tl will be as well with them. The 04 Max will be a tad slower than any of the above (but not so far of as you can call it a win just because) its best times at track are slower than the 02/03 Maxima's.

Would the fact that Max is DOHC and Acura is SOHC have any effect? Not sure of the difference, but DOHC are supposed to be more powerful and "peppy." Nissan is also known for having the best V6s on the market

So which Montana or Nevada highway are we going to try this on? :p
There are not a lot of other places I'd like to run 140+ for 4/5ths of that race . . .
