WOW - AcuraZine rocks, got a lot answered just by browsing the form prior purchasing ...anway.. recently purchased 2004 TL - Desert Mist Metalic. Here is a pic, i would like to tweek it a bit. any suggestions? Aspec looks great, not to crazy as to upgrading wheels...

Great Suggestion... Thanks... I am more into Quality...As i was cleaning\waxing the car i noticed that my bumbers are slightly darker.. I was like WTF, was the car in the accident. ALL Carfax\ AutoCheck clears out. called my mechanic\autobody guy who said all is STOCK. not certain if i should repaint prior ASPEC... check out the pics... I will try to post more soon.

I agree with upgrading wheels. at least 18's. If you do a-spec kit and lower it, the stock 17 will tend to look small.

 

The color mismatch is a common Acura flaw. You have to learn to live with it or repaint. Trust me, you're not the only one.

 

I have an RBP, and the rear bumper seems significantly lighter than the body when viewed in certain angles of the sunlight.

 

today's project was a success and pinstriping are now gone. Non-Acetone nail polish remover works great.

 

if you get the aspec lip the car is going to be 3 different colors...the reason why your bumpers dont match or many of the new cars is because the car is painted in a different area than the bumpers...factory stocks the bumper and just pulls them off the shelf to put on the new car.. im a painter and work for a dealer and deal with this all the time..once the aspec kit come check if it matches close to the bumper and if it does you can keep it like that or just blend the corner of the bumper and qtrs..lmk if have any ?s

i really like the color... but the mismatch in color is disturbing...i am almost afraid to get the A-Spec kit if it is in different shade. Repainting it would add to the cost... i love how my car looks now without pinstriping... so different.

 

Congrats on your recent purchase!... I have an 04 Dmm TL aswell and my bumpers look the same way.

The Dmm is not the most popular color of TL's out there but just remember their are alot of TL's out there and yours will most likely be the only one you'll see in that color.

If you mod it right ie...a member on here named "dougboy" your car can look sick.....

its up to you on the repainting, but even if you dont the aspec kit will look hot...just make sure you remove the pinstripe first

the aspec suspension if also a nice option. its oem and can be installed at a dealership, so no hassles with warranty, and it offers a nice drop with a huge increase in performance. and being an 04 i am sure it could use the suspension upgrade
