04 Accord 6MT vs 05ish Mustang GT 5MT
Just a little background, I see the same 2005ish Mustang GT almost every other day on my commute to and from work. I've always closely watched the car and noticed right away it was manual .... I knew in the back of my mind we'd race one day ..
By coincidence, I see the Mustang GT this morning and I knew he either wanted to play or was late to work. I followed closely and we both make it to the 15 freeway onramp and I catch the light before him and got ahead of him. Once we both merged with a clearing of traffic we both punched it (I started about 1 car length ahead).
We went from a 65mph punch and I kept my car length all the way up to 100mph and shut down. He looked puzzled and shortly after I got off on my exit.
I'm sure we'll have more races since he knows I am down, he won't have a chance after I get my pre-cat deletes.

Nice run man . After those deletes you are definitely going to pull. That V3 pipe must really open it up. Always nice to know of another tuner on the way to work .
65mph is the perfect highway roll for us because that's right at the beginning of VTEC in 3rd gear.
That look never gets old That's not an Accord!!!

Well, if he gets his bolt ons , you have no chance. Just think about it, before

Didn't know you needed 2 posts to get your point across.
I realize a Mustang GT, along with any V8 Domestic, can get great power gains with very little money and very little work. I've seen this particular V8 GT for the past 2 / 3 months ever since I started working in Rancho Bernardo, I highly doubt he's itching to get any bolt ons installed on his Mustang just so he can beat a little blue Honda Accord on the way to work.
Stop polluting my thread. Thank you.

Another thing you fail to realize "tommy" is the 6MT Accord is a very capable car. This car screams from a 50 / 65 roll with great top end with good gearing. From a 3rd gear punch right in my powerband, it doesn't surprise me I held my own up until 100mph. I know how to drive my car and squeeze every little bit of RPM out of it with some quick shifts .. perhaps I'm the better driver .. ?

There is no way an Accord (unless FI) can keep up with a 300hp, heavier Mustang. Why don't you tell us what really happened
Tommy: How was that ricer? It's kind of like saying "The Lakers don't stand a chance once the Heat get Lebron." Same concept (and may be true lol).
Tyler: I'm sure you will end up running him again. It may not be for a week or so, he may be butt hurt
Once you get an exhaust...be prepared to feel the full wrath of the PCDs!!

You must not know the Accord 6MT too well. There have been some Accord V6 6MT with just I/E running 13.9@101MPH.

You know honestly, people never listen to me when I say accords or even TL(s) are sleepers till they get beat by one or notice it pulling away from them. I remember a dude in a 350Z and his buddy in a G35 got pulled on, one at a time, light after light, by an '04 AV6 coupe. I was behind them trying to keep up. 0__o. lol

The Mustang should win in all cases, but it doesn't always play out like that. I was even with a 5MT back when I had just a CAI (from like 15-65mph). He looked like he would've pulled in 3rd though.
Any word on the PCDs Tyler?

nice kill!! and this is a street race so at the end of the day throw away that 1/4times cuz anything can happen on the street.....it's all game on the street, anything could be a factorwhy u beat a car on a given dayyy.......And BTW F them Stangs...I can't stand those bulky looking shit cars, yeah i said it n what! lol

The mags like Motor Trend already have gotten 13.5s@104mph out of the 315hp SOHC 4.6 Stangs. MT did a 12.8@111mph with a loaded GT Premium with the large 20" rims. A local 5.0 in Kansas City recently did a 12.4@111mph with DRs. The 5.0s are easy mid 12 second cars for sure. With the right conditions, it's pretty easy to beat published mag times by around .3 seconds.

But the main reason I'd rather trust mag times is because you know they are not posting time slips when they power shifting or using DRs ect. Honestly people judge based on 1/4 mile times and even traps way too much. They are good indicators of how a race is gonna go and all but there are many other factors not shown in those stats.

Good runs bro! Its cool as hell to shock someone that thinks there about to get some easy pickens... and to those that give him shiat about mentioning that he will take the GT when he gets more boltons need to chill! Nothing wrong for OP to have goals to look forward to... lol
