I soaked a clean microfiber in water, wrung it out and used that to wipe down the dash. I let it air dry until it was dry then with that same towel, sprayed the 303 into it and wrung it out again to thoroughly saturate the towel in 303. I then used the saturated towel to wipe down the dash that was it was being evenly distributed. Worked perfect.

I hate this stupid dash the reason its blotchy is because all the pores on the surface have opened due to escaping gases etc. What this does it make the dash act like suede it absorbs protectants so they don't stay on the surface. Everytime I take down my sunshade and it slides across the surface of the dash it puts a line that you can remove by rubbing with your hand but very similar to the suede effect. I think i'll have to take it out and paint it with some SEM paint someday.

Yeah, not long after I bought my '04 TL (it was already 3 years old), I noticed the chalky dash problem. I assumed there was nothing that could fix it (tried several things). Then, about 1.5 years ago (right before I moved again for work), I took my car to this place called Mr Car Wash, and I paid extra for an interior cream conditioner to be applied to my seats and dash. Ever since then, the chalky dash problem hasn't come back.

Faded dashboard

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I tried a wide assortment of creams and conditioners (sounds like a hair issue!) before I tried the simple approach of black shoe polish on my faded 2008 TL dash (over the airbag in particular). Now three months later, still looks pretty good. I used standard shoe polish paste wax, and a couple of applications.
