04-06 A-Spec Front lip on Type-S?

So I have done a little searching and I have only heard it mentioned that it takes some modification to make the older style a-spec front lip to work on the 07-08 type-s. I really like the look of the older style one compared to the one made for the type-s, but wasn't sure if it would fit or not.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look for jptl04's thread. He mentions somewhere in there that the 07 base lip contours the Type-S bumper but the older 04-06 doesn't come close to fitting.

good choice. i think the 04-06 aspec front lip looks way better than the type s. idk the type s aspec lip just looks big and bulky IMO.

Exactly, I mean I can see why some people might like it, it really changes the whole look of the front end. But its a little much for me.

Thank you for pointing me in his direction, it looks like he definitely knows what he is doing.

I am inquiring him right now about the installation of the base 07 TL lip he did on his car, as I think it looks pretty good.

One of the big reasons I want to do this as well is because the old guy that owned it before me didnt treat the front bumper very good and it has a good scratch on the right side and at the bottom in the middle he hit something pretty good and the paint kind of chipped away. I'll throw up a couple of pics here shortly. As opposed to getting that repaired, I figured throwing a lip over it would fix it just fine. Or in jptl04's case, I'm not sure if he completely replaced that front piece or if it goes over the top.

Here is a couple pics of what I'm dealing with. The scratches on the side might be able to get buffed out, but the chipped paint on the front is kind of shitty. Can never get touchup paint to look that good imo.

Based on the pictures you posted, I'd say the lip will cover most of that damage.

Yea thats my plan, now im looking into getting the a-spec kit for 07 base TL and see if i can get it to fit... waiting on a response from jptl04 to see if it takes much work to get it to fit, but does anyone else know if the 07 base tl a-spec front lip will fit a type-s?
